All this talk about the helicopter pilot. What about the RWO American airlines pilots. Were they not looking out the window? They are supposed to be looking for other aircraft too. Just because they were where they should have been doesn’t mean they are helpless to avoid another aircraft. In my 40 plus years of being a pilot, I have always been on the lookout for potential collisions. Just wondering why, even the President, has made no statements about the airline pilots’ responsibility to “See and avoid”.
