Here in the east, Quakers have become reliably left-wing and ultra-liberal.
You are deceptively talking around my points. I was just going to walk away but now I need to address this for what it really is.
You quoted only part of my statement in that reply and turned it into something it was not. I said this...
“But worse my fiend, was transporting us all there from our homelands in the first place. We were living together just fine when that happened. We had already been “civilized” and living as Christians. In fact because of the times, many natives were fellow slave owners and had plantations.”
You turned it into a savage and brutal Indian on Indian issue from totally different timelines. What I said had absolutely nothing to do with that or those timelines. You took one line out of my paragraph and took my point completely out of context from what it was.
This is BEARING FALSE WITNESS. You broke one of God’s laws by doing that. Yet when I point it out you talk around it rather than admit you were wrong in God’s eyes and broke one of his laws.
This is the hypocrisy and arrogance I speak of that is rampant in Christianity. You either believe in God’s word or you do not. And if you do not then you cannot claim to be a follower of God’s word.
Practice your own doctrine honestly or you are nothing but a false prophet. It is not selective with an on or off switch depending on the situation. It is all or nothing period.
“Here in the east, Quakers have become reliably left-wing and ultra-liberal.”
I’m sorry to hear that. I used to rub shoulders with them years ago and they tried to remain sort of neutral.
There are plenty of pages on Facebook that keep the Native American past in front of our eyes every day. So many pass on fake info it is tough to oppose them all. But I try. I have only been studying Native American history for the last 60 years.
In the late 1800s Quakers were often considered the most honest of the Indian Agents. The regular Indian agents took the tribes to the cleaners every chance they got.
Both Gen Custer and Gen Crook knew that almost all of the Indian Wars came about by the theft of Tribal goods by crooked Indian Agents.
Custer almost got cashiered when he showed the thieving “Indian Ring” got too close to the White House.
It may be small comfort, but there are idiots in every demographic who post here. White Southerners routinely hear trash talk from northerners wanting to re-fight the Civil War. There are outbursts of snark or loathing between Catholics and Protestant/Evangelicals on many of the religion threads going all the way back to the Reformation 500+ years ago. Some women and some men get vitriolic when a thread is about the two sexes, marriage, divorce, or child custody. The Macintosh versus Android/PC crowds go at it.
So please don't judge all Christians by the ignoramuses. Every group has some. It's the price of free speech here. I say without doubt that the vast majority of freepers and Christians respect and admire America's native peoples and love to visit your regions. And many of those of us who are descended from European early settlers also have some native American blood—only as much as a mention of past generations when family reminisces, but more than Elizabeth Warren!
Unity!
“I have only been studying Native American history for the last 60 years.”
And I have only been Native American 63 years.
What you need to study is the Bible instead. I’m not sure you got it right..
grievous
While I imagine there are righteous Christian Quakers, many contemporary Quakers, because they believe in pacifism, tend to populate the anti-war movement and were often demonstrating against anything having to do with supporting our troops during the Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq Wars. I have no objection to them going to the Capitol and bringing their fight to their representatives in Congress; but to make common cause with the communists and ultraliberal heathen who hector the soldiers, many of whom were drafted, is reprehensible. The soldiers do not make war policy.
See post 49.
I have read the Bible through many times. Everyone should.
Remember former Professor Ward Churchill who fabricated ancient incidents with the tribes and passed them off as real? He got fired for doing it. The tall tales he passed on to his students are still going around on Facebook web sites.
We had a great discussion on Free Republic of him back when he was still a professor and got fired.
This is a wonderful essay— all positive stuff about Trump I had not known. Thanks for posting!
I have been here long enough to know for myself. And there are very few words that excite a shark feeding frenzy like the words Indian/”Native American”. The second best is anything related to “science”. There are those here who have made it their life to perched on the poles just waiting for that topic to come up so they can try to destroy it. What I find amazing is how they can take ANY topic related to science and turn it into a beef supporting Ussher’s young earth. How they can twist it all around to support an argument for that concept is truly amazing. Out of thin air sometimes...
I may not always comment, but I read every thread very well while studying the examples of human nature and interactions. That prediction of “anytime... 1... 2... 3...” is right on the money. Like clockwork you can predict certain users and their pet topics to show up in exactly 3 seconds from when it was posted.
***And I have only been Native American 63 years.***
I was living among the Navajos in 1956. I was 10 years old. Wish I was there now. I consider the first ten years of my life as the best.
Then read it again. You are still side stepping and didn’t learn a thing.
I know that I have been saved by the shed blood of Christ on the Cross. It is not what I do for him that saves me, it is what HE DID for me on the Cross that saves me. The Cherokees at the church I go to also understand this.
“By GRACE are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of GOD, NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast.”
“I know that I have been saved by the shed blood of Christ on the Cross. It is not what I do for him that saves me, it is what HE DID for me on the Cross that saves me.”
That is an out and open door to violate his law at will. I have heard that spin too many times.
Yes... He DOES judge you by what you do for him. The whole book is about flying straight for God or going to hell for not flying straight for God.
Whom do you follow?
Christ on earth? “I am sent to none but only the Lost Sheep of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL!”
Petr and the 12 acts 11:19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
or St Paul Romans 11:13 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
Acts 15 compared with Galatians 2
“Galatians 2 “9 James, Cephas[c] and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.”
🇺🇸🦋🙏Well said!
I know! Ugh. It’s actually frustrating that there isn’t better communication of and disseminating of all the ACTUAL, FACTUAL narratives surrounding the INS and OUTS of his days in office.
Please join me in prayer that this changes. I have an incognito X/Twitter account and give kudos to Elon Musk for his enthusiastic posting of everything unfolding throughout the day. (That we’re meant to know.)
Trump needs a very active Instagram and social media chronicling of this stuff.
Melania’s team hopefully will also improve on this. There are a lot of outside the box philanthropic things she did and continued to do even after 2020, which deserves more light!
