Ask voters? Apparently 70k votes in NV voted for Trump but not some of down ballot races which helped dems win them
Ask counters? Why the extreme slow counting that repeatedly sees Republican candidates lose their lead and ultimately their race in many late called races?
Likely won’t happen, but would be great if Trump surpassed Joe’s 2020 bumped up total.
Decreases in total vote since 1824 (records sketchy before then — I think in some states, electors weren’t chosen by popular vote):
1864 (southern states didn’t participate): 4.7M down to 4.0M
1904 (14.0M down to 13.5M)
1944 (49.9M down to 48.0M)
1988 (92.7M down to 91.6M)
1996 (104.4 down to 96.3M)
2012 (131.5 down to 129.2)
2024 (158.6 down to 148.7)
It’s a rather large increase from 1988 to 1992, and quite a decrease down to 1996.
