Good to see you c_I_c.
Oh yeah. I knew there was one I left out, and couldn’t put my finger on it!
Soltaire!
Thank you...:)
2020 was a regular Annis Horribilus (however thatâs spelled) for me. My wife and I used to listen to Rush assiduously in the weekday afternoon - and both she and Rush left us that year (married 51 years, lacking a day).Add to that and Covid restrictions (never had it until it had gotten mild (at least for my experience)) the fact that I was recovering from radiation treatment for prostate - and the small detail of the denouement of that yearâs election - and you can see I wasnât a happy camper back then.
I sure hope Rasmussen Reports has this election pegged; they didnât actually say it would be too big to rig, but they sound like theyâll be surprised if it isnât. And if it isnât . . .
Been thinking about the Biden/Harris persecution of Trump in court cases, and it hit me today that those cases are essentially what Scalia was warning about in his famous dissent in the 7-1 (Kennedy not voting) Morrison v. Olson case. Those prosecutors harassing him are essentially âSpecial Prosecutorsâ - some of whom got themselves elected with a promise to prosecute Trump. Itâs essentially the same thing.
I will drive to the poll place tomorrow, just to be safe about it - but I live within walking distance and have nothing else on my docket but voting. That, and pulling for New Hampshire and Virginia to be slow reporting because Kamala is in trouble and that will be an early indication.
I missed seeing you post, and I just assumed were were traveling in different circles. I appreciate your input on these things...so...glad to bump into you, and hope 2024-2025 is a better year for all of us too!
Making her sing wasnât actually the problem, it was going on tour. Lucrative - but it was that which put her in the public eye and made her vulnerable to criticism because her figure wasnât absolutely stunning. How superficial can you get? I make no doubt that Richard rued the day he pushed her onto center stage ...
Richard was talented musically, and could have made his way without involving her sister. But when you think of âThe Carpenters,â the thing that stands out isnât his musicianship - fine as it was - but Karenâs voice. That was in its own way unfair, since his selection of the songs and his arrangements - and his leadership of Karen -were crucial.
Condolences sir.
Thank you.
