"I agree with repealing the 19th Amdt. Always have." ************************************************************
The Democratic party would cease to exist without women voters. The 19th amendment was an asteroid strike against civilization.

All of the Progressive Era amendments (16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th) were bad ideas...although the 19th was inevitable given the Zeitgeist.
The Sons of the American Revolution, for reasons that escape me, takes pride in the fact that the man who cast the deciding vote for Tennessee to ratify the 19th amendment (it was the 36th state to do so) was a member of the SAR and later its national president.

Never heard that analysis of the 19th but I like it a lot.

Re: 5 - LOL!
Now, the never-happy foot stomping crowd is whining about women voting.
They all know the 19th Amendment is never going to be repealed.

Those three amendments in essence canceled the Constitution. It didn’t fly apart immediately but the process was begun and disintegration continues apace

LOL - there was a war on. And it was a scandal anyhow. Plus the Code Duello was still in (unofficially) so there were consequences to acting like an idiot.
Maybe that's what we need . . . pistols at dawn.

The caning incident was a couple of years before the Civil War started (although there was already violence in Kansas Territory).
