In 2022, Republicans won back the U.S. House of Representatives. It was close, but we won. Better than 2018, when we lost the House, and better than 2020 when we also lost the Senate and the White House.
Winning.
Don’t get tired of it.
This fall, let’s see winning, winning, winning. The White House + the House of Representative + the Senate. Plus Governors. Plus State Legislators. Plus School Boards. Plus whatever.
As for Elon Musk having turned from a Democrat into a Republican. That’s what Donald Trump did. Welcome on board, Elon.
People generally are born liberal (U.S. meaning) and mature into conservatives. Winston Churchill once said if at twenty you’re not a liberal, you don’t have a heart. If at forty you’re not a conservative, you don’t have a brain.
Another old saying, I don’t know who coined it, is that a conservative is a liberal mugged by reality.
Yet another is that my cat had kittens and the kittens were all liberals. Then, after 10 days or so, the kittens opened their eyes and became conservatives.
Elon Musk should talk about these GOP traitors resigning so the House gets handed over to the democrats
I see we have a deviationist.
Deviationists think our real enemies are IN our party (NOT in the other party). They think if we just got rid of the enemies in our party, we would win.
For example, in the Senate, where have 49 Senators. Deviationist say if we got rid of the weak sisters, the Mittster, maybe the Turtle, and maybe others, and got our number of Senators down to the mid or even low forties, we would do better.
Better to lose than to win.
Well, I’ve grown tired of losing.
Yeah...maybe he can dump a few hundred mill to offset Zuckerbucks this time around
“real enemies are IN our party (NOT in the other party)”
sounds about right... although there are some in the other party... one has to get the log out of their own eye, before they see straight to remove a speck from their neighbors...
remove the scorners in a group and the strife will cease.
a house divided will not stand... so get rid of the dividers in this house.
:NeverTrumpin':
Running my mouth on Twitter and sending DJT every dime I can. You?
They like being de-pantsed and humiliated in front of an audience and stuff like that, at least so long as they can cash in on it. It's in their assembly code and it will never change.
What I send DJT hurts my pocketbook more than him ponying up a billion would affect him.
He’s coming around.
There is a long history of deviationists, so there must be something to it.
In the Netherlands, the party associated with the orthodox Reform Church boasts that it has never joined in any ruling coalition.
In our country, the Libertarian Party compromised once (in nominating Gary Johnson, a former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico), and almost became a meaningful party. Then, it reverted to ideological purity.
Going back in time, we had the religious wars in central Europe involving the Calvinists, Lutherans, Catholics and various Anabaptist sects. Those were the days when Europeans took matters of doctrine seriously!
I have a couple stories to illustrate deviationism (both stories are pretty well known). In the first, two Christians meet, and one says millennialist or amillennialist? Millenialist. Great, that makes both of us.
Pre-mill or post-mill? Pre-mill. Great, that makes both of us.
Mid-trib or a-trib? A-trib. Go away heathen!
The second concerns a man who had been lost at sea, discovered on a deserted island. The rescuers noticed he had three huts. Why three?
Well, the first one is my home. That’s where I sleep and so forth. That’s what we figured. One of the huts is your home. But what about the other two?
The second one is my church. That’s where I go to worship the Lord God. That makes sense. You dedicate a second hut to be a holy or separate place. But what about the third?
That’s where I used to go to church.
“Elon’s a smart man. What took him so long to figure this out?”
**************
He was going along with the wave of cultural rot that has overtaken this country. Influential people like him voted for the Left until they started to realize the inevitable destructive effects of Dem policies and corruption. Now that its affecting them in personal and professional ways, they suddenly take notice.
I’m glad he finally figured out what folks on Free Republic have known and predicted for a long time. It was obvious to us.
Your concerns are spot on. Fundamentally its all about the cultural decline and self-destructive social morass we’re in. That’s not an easy thing to reverse.
“How do you get out of ~ 37T in debt?”
************
We just hit $34.6T so $37T is a lock. Its the next $10T that’s going to do us in.
Well, he’s right, but that “red wave” has to be comprised of constitutionalists, not RINOs.
Musk is right, of course.
It is up to us to make it happen!
I got the impression that Harmeet Dhillon did not have Trump’s confidence for some reason.
Obviously Trump was out of GOP leadership after 2020.
Your Reuters link is from 2023 not 2020. And despite the Rueters headline, Trump did not endorse Ronna in 2023.
