Instead of ESAD, it’ll be DSAD
“Here is a idea - dams and reservoirs”
Every year when the rains come the rivers are full of water as it all goes out to sea. The Sites Reservoir north of Sacramento has been planned for years. It would be huge and solve the water problem. It would also solve some of the flooding problems in central California. But the moron politicians will not build it because then they would lose their emergency powers because there would not be any more flooding in the area.
This is what NASA does on a regular basis. We filter and boil water on camping and hiking trips. Small town ate allowed to process waste water by the EPA and dump it back into river systems. It is the economy of scale that they are looking at and extra precautions to make it work. Pulling water from nasty mud holes is common in Africa and children learn to process it to drink. Again this is just a nasty mental picture being use by a media outlet for click bait to the LCD thinker.
Next time don’t drain a several year’s supply of water into the ocean, allegedly for some fish of some kind.
Why bother? Most of CA’s population is so close to Idiocracy now, just pay CNN to convince them that water is just for the toilet and they’re saving it by drinking and washing in Brawndo.
As a former certified water treatment operator, I am aware that sewage water has been turned into drinking water for years. It’s nothing new. Properly treated sewage water is often released into streams, rivers and other bodies of water. A third stage sewage lagoon often has minnows and other small aquatic forms of life thriving in it.
Many municipalities get their drinking water from bodies of water. Once properly treated for human use, there’s nothing in it that could harm anyone.
Water is perpetually recycled. Just about every drop of water on Earth has passed through some animal’s digestive system at one time or another.
The conception many have is that water will be pumped directly to the kitchen faucet after it leaves the toilet - this is false.
And why not? The sidewalks are paved with doodoo.
From gold to s-—! That’s what the Democrats will do for you.
Something about DemocRATZ...they love sewage. On the streets. In the media. In congressional rooms. In public parades.
Sewage must be flushed.
What could go wrong? Filtering the water does not filter out the various medicines in it.
Example of this is the water in the Lake of the Ozarks. There are thousands They changed to a central sewage plant but it still flows back into the lake.
Through testing they found high levels of estrogen and other drugs in the lake water.
They’ve been doing this for years, technically:
They ship tanker trucks of treated wastewater east and inject it into the aquifer to ‘recharge’ it.
But better now that they tell californians to drink their own piss. Fitting.
First time someone gets sick the water purveyor is on the hook with no defense. Reclaimed water is okay for fire fighting and irrigation.
Consider what California recycled into a governor.
Well they’ve been drinking Mexican cerveza for years. I don’t see any difference.
There is a lot of misinformation regarding this issue specifically, and water issues in California in general.
1) "Toilet to Tap" -- Orange County Water Department has been doing this since at least 2013, so it is not new.
2) Groundwater disposal -- In other iterations of this the treated wastewater was pumped into the ground to replenish the aquifer. There was a "retention time" required. The water pumped it at Point A had to remain in the ground for a specific period of time before being pumped out at point B. The travel time is known and monitored (Think of aquifers as being similar to underground rivers). The retention times have been shortened over the years.
3) Rainwater run off capture -- Many projects on rivers in Orange County, LA and San Diego have had "bladder dams" installed. As a river fills with run-off water, the water is pumped first into the bladder creating a temporary dam. The water retained behind the dam is then pumped into the groundwater to replenish the aquifer. This is but one example of rainwater capture projects throughout the state
4) Aquifer replenishment -- The groundwater level throughout the LA basin was relatively close to the surface back in the 1920's. Cities in LA area reflect that: Fountain Valley, Santa Fe Springs, Lakewood, Artesia. All of those cities had natural springs as groundwater rose through fissures in the earth surface. As the groundwater level was lowered (deeper) those springs disappeared, and the land developed. Today a major concern is that with the groundwater level being raised (closer to the surface) those springs could reappear in unexpected areas. The groundwater level has increased over the years due, in part, to such projects as mentioned.
Not to worry: The elites drink Fiji water.
Vladimir Voinovich in his satiric novel, Moscow 2042, wrote that true Communism would be achieved when primary matter (food) equaled secondary matter (feces). California might soon be close to achieving true Communism.
Should I be concerned about Estrogen in the water?
Or Cocaine byproducts?
Are they removed?
