It’s a positive thing that he wasn’t spooked by your appearance.
Wow.
It surprised me, and I know he was surprised, but I’m glad I got a full-body look at him. He really is beautiful! Thin, but beautiful.
Maybe I’ll see more of him in the future.
Step by step ...
It’s getting ready to storm here.
I’m trying to sort out a situation involving youth protection training for the Hispanic volunteers at the church, and I keep having to ask the “Safe Environment” coordinator at the Diocese for help. I’ve figure out that our parish education director will reply to me if the guy at the Diocese copies her on an email.
She just said, in an exchange involving all three of us, that she could meet me and provide a list of volunteers and the names on their accounts. Now, I have emailed her individually asking for some options for a day/time for her to meet with Lourdes and me. We’ll see if she replies. If not, I’m going make an absolute nuisance of myself.
I love it when you talk like that! LOL!
It sounds like something I'd do!
As for Chip, no hurry. As I've said before and will continue to say, it's his ball park, his bat and ball, and he calls the game. He can take his sweet little kitty time about all of it, and I'll just be grateful for the glimpses I get of him, and for the satisfaction of knowing he doesn't have to fight for a bed, or food or even water. He can sleep as long as he wants, and do whatever he chooses, and when I feel like I have to take him to the vet for his FIV, I'll try to do it as gently as possible and try not to stress him.
He's a good kitty and I want him to know he's at home here.
If you have to take Chip to the vet, you can ask the vet to give him a tranquilizer. Then he won’t remember the stress. When Anoreth was born, our cat Agnes had a nervous breakdown about the strange animal in the apartment, and the vet gave her a shot that made her very relaxed and snoozy for a couple of weeks, while she got used to it.
I’ll telephone, I’ll email. If necessary, I’ll ask Mr. Vasquez at the Diocese for help again. He replies to emails!
Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised ... we’ll see. I don’t understand why it should be difficult. Just pick out a day and time, print out the information we need, Lourdes and I can come to her office and discuss it, and we’re done in half an hour.
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
These 2am walks are starting to take their toll. I hope the Princess’ liver has responded to all this within the first month. I know she’s getting tired of taking pills all day. And I’m getting literally tired of these interrupted nights.
At least the weather will be good today. It’s nice to look out at the sunshine, even if I can’t go take a walk.
We found out this year that F-I-L’s Miracle Ear insurance is set to automatically withdraw from his bank account if they don’t hear from him. We were planning to let it lapse when, surprise!, there’s a withdrawal in his account. So I called several times yesterday trying to talk to the cancellation person but they’re never available and they never call back. I’ll find out what state agency oversees them if I can’t talk to a person today.
This is why I never set up auto-pay.
Today’s Wordle score was very ordinary.

I love those spotted kitties!
Good morning. I hope you feel well rested from yesterday’s fatigue.
I’ll go pick up the groceries this morning, then come back and sort pills. I haven’t slept well the last couple of nights, so it will catch up with me soon.
I’ll have to have Chip tranquilized by the vet, because I want to have him groomed to try and get rid of that “sick” smell he has. I’ll also have to try and get his pillow washed to rid it of the smell as well. Poor baby. Who knew FIV would do that to a kitty?
I’ll have to get a net, soon. I have a plan of how to catch him for the carrier, and I think it will work. But everything will have to be coordinated quite well. The catch, the vet, the groomer and the pillow. Maybe I’ll just get a new pillow and swap them out to wash them.
But like I said, I’ll do it with as little stress as possible. He’s had my heart since before we left the sanctuary!
It’s 45Β° with a high foreguessed of 72 shivering degrees. I’m sure when Walmart sends me a text to tell me the grocery order is ready, it will be closer to 40 degrees.
The wind is out of the NNE @ 16 mph again, so I will dress warmly before I go. Those poor delivery persons! The wind is ALWAYS worse at Walmart as it’s four miles west of town in the desert.
(I’m glad I got the cat bed when I did — it’s no longer available. But I’ll try to find a second pillow for it, since I now have the size.)
It's important to nurture our feline family members back to full health so they can snub us in the regal manner in which they are accustomed.
Jake’s favorite thing is microfiber fleece blankets that he can diligently claw. He has several, and they’re inexpensive at Walmart.
Not bad, thanks. We had thunderstorms again. I just went out to the garden, and it looks like the vegetable plants weren’t damaged. When things dry out a little, I’ll sprinkle some diatomaceous earth.
Even as ill as Chip is, he is still able to snub me in a very regal manner!
(I almost wish I had paid the extra for delivery, as I’m very tired this morning.)
Here’s hoping that you are pleasantly surprised when you ask Mr. Vasquez for help. If he’s an advocate for one thing, he can be an advocate for lots of other more important things!
Good luck with it all!
Was 46Β° when I left the house this AM. Going to 65Β° this afternoon... So, of course I rode the bike the 46 miles to my client site... :-)
Spring and early Summer are my favorite times of year up here.
We’ve been having above average temps, combined with ridiculously high humidity... the air feel like walking through warm soup...
