Stripy kitten hopes you and Chip are doing okay this morning.
That’s a regal-looking floof!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night!
It was almost 2000 by the time I got into bed, and it took me quite a while to clam down.
It was good to see Sam, and the visit with PW wasn’t too stressful.
I came home to find Chip behind the sofa again and I had to shine a light to see him. The tips of his toes are white!
I’m thinking, when he’s calmed down and settled in, he needs to go to the groomer. He went exploring last night, so now, I guess nothing will be safe from him. Maybe he’ll begin to come out of the shell and make nice with me. Or at least try!
Now, I have to go take that shower. I can’t believe how late it is! My whole life has turned upside-down since I moved here and it doesn’t seem to stress me at all! LOL!
I’m fine, thanks! Just exhausted. I don’t do evenings and I think in the future, if an event can’t take place and be finished by 1300, it won’t include me!
It’s good for Chip to have more than one spot where he feels secure. With patience, there’s no reason for him not to warm up to you.
Chip still isn’t sure of his surroundings and whether I’m a threat or not. In time, he’ll come around, but how long that time is is anyone’s guess. It could be anywhere from a week to a year, depending on how traumatized he was by humans when he was feral.
I’ll just wait. No big deal. He’s eating and using the litter box, and for now, those are good signs. There are two catnip toys on the floor, and I have an old stuffed cat that I’m going to put down to see if he wants a big buddy. But he’s settling in and that’s as good as I can hope for.
You can brush him, once he trusts you.
The brush is waiting. But he needs to get that “shelter odor” off him and I think that will make a world of difference in how he acts. Right now, though, it would traumatize him too much for me to try and catch him.
He’ll let you know when he’s relaxed enough for brushing.
Indeed, he will.
Give up or guess?

What a sweet bunch of kittens!
Good morning. I hope you slept well.
I had a hard time falling asleep, though I was very tired. Maybe tonight will be different.
I caught a glimpse of Chip last night but I inadvertently startled him, so I don’t think I’ll see him again for a few more days. Poor little waif.
Now I need to go get dressed and strip the bed and head on out to the laundry room — 75’ away, if that.
Not bad, thanks. I was reading a book about Slavic mythology before I went to bed, so I had some pretty creepy dreams.
Good luck at the laundry!
Good morning. Happy Monday!
Good news about Chip. Hopefully he’ll move from “alive” to “feeling at home” soon.
Not much drama with the in-laws this weekend, which is good.
Somehow F-I-L keeps setting his Windows theme to dark mode. It’s hard enough to do that I can’t imagine he makes the same mistake every time setting it that way. I finally asked him yesterday to share the site where he plays solitaire. I wondered if there was a thing he could click there that set it his theme to dark mode. But he said he doesn’t go there that much. (I’m pretty sure he goes there every day.)
I may have to try to find a one-click reset option for him.
Of course, I explained that everything works exactly the same, it just looks funny. But it’s too much for him to handle.
I had a reasonable Wordle outing today.

Good morning. No drama from the elderly is good.
Good Monday Morning!
Looks like we will finally see some sunshine for a few days this week... And good to read that Chip is starting the process of getting settled in to his new home!
After a 4 and 5 Wordle on the weekend, I showed some improvement today...

So much for luck at/with the laundry.
I put all the bedding in the front-loading machine, because I was washing the mattress pad and the pet blankets that came in the carrier. They told me to keep them, but bring back the carrier. One blanket had too much cat hair on it and I just tossed it, as I didn’t want to share the cat hair with the rest of my laundry as well as give some to the next person who used the machine.
Anyway, long story short, the load was unbalanced and I had to put all the bedding in the other two washers, run them through the cycle to spin-dry them and then put them in the dryers. So I was an hour late getting the laundry done. Now I’m short two loads worth of quarters. *sigh*
I’ll have to go to Lin’s soon so I can get another type of cat litter. I opted for lightweight litter rather that a heavy box of the standard brands. I guess Chip doesn’t recognize it as litter.
He is not eating much of the dry food and taking very little water, though I give him fresh of everything every day. He’s still upset.
Maybe give him a little more gooshy food, if he doesn’t want the dry. Sally tried using the lightweight, recycled paper litter, but her cats didn’t go for it, either. Jake’s favorite thing is to go in the garden.
I have days ...
