Early on when Arab spring fallacy was about to start happening and Hamas was gestating in Muslim brotherhood elements in the state dept and Europe and Israeli labor party considered at least that they might be preferable to Arafat and the Fatah given Ararat’s tolerance of folks like Abu Nidal etc
