Bloomberg: The attack on a tanker near the Crimean bridge speaks of a new stage in the conflict after the end of the grain deal.
According to Vassilis Muis, managing director of the Greek company Doric Shipbrokers, the incident is likely to slow down traffic to and from Russian Black Sea ports.
Ukraine is trying to resist Russia’s attempts to control cargo flows in the Black Sea, said Nikolai Beleskov, a researcher at the National Institute for Strategic Studies.
“Ukraine needs to create risks so that you can come to Moscow and say, ‘If you want to trade from Novorossiysk, then let us ship grain from Odessa and other ports,’” he said.
But the ships continued to sail through the strait as usual

The New York Times:
The visit of a Chinese representative to a meeting in Saudi Jeddah does not mean that Beijing is changing its position towards the conflict.
But it can help create the image of a responsible and neutral player.
Zelenskiy also recently told his diplomats that the situation would be even more difficult.
In the coming months, pressure will mount to find a negotiated path to peace

CNN:
U.S. officials are increasingly fearful that Vladimir Putin is dragging his feet in Ukraine in the hope that Donald Trump or another Republican candidate will take the White House in 2024 and cut U.S. funding to Ukraine.
The US has not received specific information about whether Putin is considering the 2024 election in his long-term plans in Ukraine, government officials said.
But, nevertheless, the upcoming elections are in the focus of attention of representatives of national security and diplomats.
“Putin knows that Trump will help him. Ukrainians and our European partners know this too,” one unnamed source told CNN.
“And while we haven’t seen anything direct about that, I guess that’s what everyone thinks.”
Another US official said they had “no doubts” that Putin was “trying to hang on” until the next election, while one European official said they thought continuing the NWO until the election was “exactly Putin’s plan.”

BRIEF

The Russian Foreign Ministry is considering the question of how to secretly inform the Chinese side about the undesirability of Ambassador Zhang Hanhui’s stay in the country.
From the moment he was appointed to the Russian Federation, the activities of the embassy began to acquire a hidden unfriendly character, and the ambassador himself often used his official position for business purposes.
Also noteworthy is the assessment of relations between the PRC and Russia as “friendly”, although most recently Ambassador Zhang Hanhui said that “we are more than allies, we are brothers, back to back.”
The Foreign Ministry attributes such changes in the activities of the embassy to the fact that Zhang Hanhui represented China in Ukraine for a long time
It should.
Here you are uncritically posting claims that Putin's big hope is Trump winning, implicitly backing the "Trump is Putin's friend" lie that powered the 2017-2020 legal and political attacks on Trump.

My personal prediction is Trump reaches a deal to end all criminal proceedings. He agrees to not run for elective office again, issues an ‘apology’ and retires. Charges against him are dropped.
My 2 cents. AKA, 2 Rubles. Hahaha.
That won’t happen because Democrats want Trump on the ballot. He’s the best GOTV and fundraising tools Dems have.
Trump reaches a deal
—
It that happens it would piss off all of his supporters, and he be seen as a quitter. And we’d get President Biden or Harris or Newsom.
Meanwhile, the radical Dems could never justify cutting a deal to all their supporters who want DJT to go down for life at the minimum. There would be riots everywhere, but with all the mayhem these days who’d notice?
Putin raging tonight. 100+ cruise missiles are on their way from Russian strategic bombers and Kalibr subs and carriers. Most likely the largest air attack of the war.

Pootie Poot is sad about losing the Black Sea...
That is an interesting speculation. I would be happy with that outcome. Trump had been so unfairly persecuted.
Saudi Arabia kicks off Ukraine talks that exclude Russia

“Some 40 countries will attend a meeting in Jeddah to discuss a set of common principles to end the war in Ukraine.”
…“Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen, reporting from Kyiv, said the summit was important for Ukraine as it presented an opportunity to reach out to nations that have remained neutral, including India and Brazil.“ (and China)
Dropping the “R” out of BRICS?
Will Putin hold another G1 summit with himself? Perhaps offer a bribe of some sort to get the Minister of Transportation from Burkina Faso to fly in for a photo op, to boost Putin’s diplomatic cred.
