All you need to do is overcome your own political interests that insist on keeping your southern border open. This does not require invading Mexico.
All of this is a US domestic political problem.
Russians are conducting a rescue operation, not an invasion.
That irredentist idea is the standard excuse given in a great many cases of military aggression. The Nazis used it in Czechoslovakia and Poland, Stalin used it, etc.
