it always looked to me like the desantis campaign was essentially predicated on spending oceans of money ... they didn’t really have much else to offer, other than “I’m not Trump”, but there were tons of others doing that too,d only with much less money to spend ...
WAY back in the day, spending oceans of money was the way it was done ... However, Trump changed all of that, but Jeb!, Cruz and now DeSantis failed to absorb the lessons of those changes, and that the “spend oceans of money” is no longer guaranteed to produce results, ESPECIALLY if one’s opponent is a candidate whom a knowledgeable and sizable populace trusts and adores ... NO amount of money can compete against such an opponent ...
At this point, I suspect that desantis’s money oceans are drying up because his megadonors are wising up ...
Yet he outraised Trump and has more money in the bank.

I heard on TV this morning that Tim Scott has more money in his campaign coffers than Trump does, as of today.
