Near Staromlynivka, #Donetsk Oblast, a Russian 2S3 Akatsiya 152mm self-propelled howitzer was struck by Ukrainian forces with a precision artillery strike, leading to the catastrophic detonation of the ammunition onboard.

Seems the crew was cooking lunch and it got out of hand, but they gallantly continued to advance into the tree line. Else its the first recorded tank-related smoking incident.

Based on observations of both sides I can make following frontline assessment:

South of Bakhmut Ukrainian forces continue to push Russian forces further east. More of the eastern bank of the Siversky-Donets canal has been liberated and Russian forces are facing now being threatened in both, Klishchiivka and Andriivka.

There are so many drones that one UA troop, hearing the buzzing sound, breaks out in hives.

[ Too Hot! Russians Deploy Chechens. Regret Immediately | Run Away! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S13mP_pfEc ]

••Day 506: Jul 14

Today there are a lot of updates from the east.

First of all, more information became available about the storming operation of the most powerful fortification in this direction - the trench network on the hill west of Klishchiivka.

When Ukrainians finally established control over the dense tree area, Ukrainians could basically see Russian forces in the trenched in front of them.

The setting was the following: Ukrainian positions were in the forest, while Russian positions were 400 meters east.

Ukrainians accumulated their forces in the forest and planned to attack Russian positions by rapidly advancing toward Russian trenches along the tree line.

In order to survive such a ride, Ukrainians conducted extensive artillery preparation and suppressed the enemy fire as much as possible.

Russian forces understood what was coming next and paid very close attention to the accumulation of forces in the small forest.

Nonetheless, soon, Ukrainian fighters from the 24th and 5th Assault Brigades published a video of how they were walking on the fortification, confirming that the assault was successful and they cleared the trenches.

Later another footage showed how a Ukrainian tank was staying in the southwestern part of the fortification and firing high-explosive shells at the next Russian positions in Klishchiivka.

Unfortunately, the tank was targeted by the Russian ATGM crews.

Despite the successful operation, moving further became temporarily problematic because after the Russian commanders received the news about the loss of the tactical heights, they started dumping all of their reserves to Klishchiivka.

Russian forces even redeployed Chechen units to save the situation.

Unfortunately for Russians, Chechen forces did not manage to break the situation in Russian favor.

Ukrainians have a twofold advantage: first of all, their positions are on the hills above Klishchiivka (from which Russians are attacking).

Secondly, when Ukrainians built this trench network, they chose a very special shape - its eastern side is wide, making it harder to attack from the enemy side, while its western side is narrow, making it easier to attack from the Ukrainian side.

That is why Ukrainians managed to assault Russian positions relatively easily, and that is why Russians struggled to recapture these positions during their counterattacks.

After seeing the setting in real life and losing a lot of men in futile attacks, Chechen forces retreated.

Ukrainian sources reported that Chechen units are not used to operating in such difficult open environments, especially if they don’t have cannon fodder as their subordinates.

Chechen sources reported that Ukrainians hunted down Chechen units with artillery strikes before they even reached Bakhmut, which is why they sustained high losses and could not continue operations in this region.

Ukrainian commanders report that, so far, Russian forces continue throwing their reserves in large numbers to save the situation.

Ukrainian forces see it as an opportunity to target forces concentrations, which is why they temporarily stopped actively pushing and assumed a defensive position.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian reconnaissance drone operators and artillery crews are working non-stop to identify and demolish Russian troops in and around Klishchiivka.

Once the Russian forces exhaust their reserves and the intensity of counterattacks decreases, Ukrainians will move forward and push Russians out of this settlement.

In war, you can and should kill the enemy on his territory - Zaluzhny.

“In order to save my people, why should I ask someone for permission to do something in enemy territory? Somehow I should think I’m not allowed to do anything there. Why? Because Putin will use nuclear weapons? Dying children don’t care about it.

This is our problem, and it is up to us to decide how to kill this enemy. If our partners are afraid to use their weapons, we will kill with ours. But only as much as it necessary.”

It is a controversial question as for me. Probably our allies know something and that is why they are not allowing Ukrainian army to use the long range missiles on the Russian territory. Now there is a question about ATACMS and it is better to keep calm until we get those and after it negotiate about the use of those systems. Otherwise the White House Administration might think twice before approving the deal seeing the intentions of the main Ukrainian general command. Again it is just my opinion

China’s military is developing a neuroweapon that will control the brain - The Washington Times

The American publication published a report that talks about the creation of special “neuroshock” weapons by specialists of the Chinese army. Journalists believe that China is developing such weapons, striving to win the role of the only superpower in the world.

An excellent, clear example of Russian military propaganda.

So, the story of “how the Russians destroy the Leopards.”

The propaganda channel “Spetsnaz Archangel” publishes a video and states: “Thanks to the engineers of the 58th Army, the Leopards are smashed to pieces.” And it seems that yes, there was an explosion, a certain tank was covered with smoke, the video was interrupted on this.

However, our channels at the same time publish a complete picture of events. It turns out that the T-64 of the 15th brigade of the National Guard with the help of a mine trawl breaks through the minefields of the invaders, does its job with high quality and, without too much fuss, takes a course to return to the positions.

Getting rid of the unreliable first stringers in favor of bringing in the relabel second and third stringers is the best military strategy for Putin’s RGF, but unfortunately, that means bringing in the crazies like the guy who wants to use ICBMS with HE against Ukraine cities

The ICBM comment was made in reference to Satan - I tried to look up how much of a payload it could lift, but only got number and types of nukes, no weights. The missile is about 5X a Minuteman II in size, but I don’t know how that would translate to lbs of HE.

Slowing the video to .25 speed you see the incoming artillery shell. It strikes within a few feet of the van in front of the building. Whoever was in the van had a very bad day.

Imagine fighting ww2 without air superiority (ask Germans at end of war how that was) or desert storm or Afghanistan, desert storm was 30 days 1000+ aircraft and over 100000 sorties.

The much vaunted destruction of Russian soldiers in Syria was largely due to air strikes including bombers if I recall

And we are telling Ukrainians get on with it, you’re too slow…. Operating in a way we never would

Again ww2 analogy, we are fighting Germany but we can’t bomb Germany, German factories, German harbors, German logistics, German submarine pens and dry docks….. yup too slow
