Probably a lot of high level folks will have to take polygraphs and endure intimidating interrogations. It is SOP for the FSB/KGB.

His MoD spokesman gives a daily "clobber report" where he presents ridiculous numbers to the public every day. This is where the claims of Ukrainian losses that significantly outnumber what their military actually has come from. This is where Putin gets crazy data like "Ukraine has lost 260 tanks and 780 IFVs since the beginning of the counter offensive". His MoD said it on TV, so what can he say? He has to convince people that Ukraine's losses are 10X worse than Russia's. I'm not sure how much he believes, but I do not think he is getting accurate info from his generals.
