VladZERO is a little bit sensitive.
Russia is a bit fractured and destabilized from the Wagner rebellion, but they have not yet borne the brunt of Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
That will be another stress test for the Russian regime and society, and it should not be long in coming.
Someone will need to take the blame. Shoigu and/or Gerasimov seem like likely sacrificial goats.
The stress tests will just keep coming, as long as this war goes on, and some worse ones are coming down the pipeline, like bankruptcy.
Shoigu and/or Gerasimov seem like likely sacrificial goats.

Someone said they will be gone in a few months - so as not to look too obvious.
How long until Prigozhin falls out of a window? 1 week? 1 month? 1 year?
“’Careful Around Open Windows,’ Ex CIA Director Warns Wagner Chief Prigozhin”
“In an apparent reference to the manner in which some Russian politicians and businessmen have died in recent years, former CIA Director David Petraeus warned the owner of Russian paramilitary group Wagner to “stay away from open windows.””
Some similar events in history can be drawn on. Charles de Gaul of France warned a unit of the Foreign Legion to stand down or he would bomb the scat out of them. They were marching on the Palace of Versailles. They kept marching until they looked up and saw the planes. They returned to barracks...

That is within the likely timeframe that a fall guy will be needed for the upcoming Russian setbacks in the Ukraine.
Maybe Prigozhin hopes for a comeback, as Secretary of Defense. Putin should lead him on, to better get him onboard that ill-fated helicopter, over toward the windowsill, or at least until after he has finished his tea.
Live by the sword, die by the sword. All these guys have it coming.
Daily Mail (UK) reports:
“As part of the hasty peace deal between Putin and Prigozhin - brokered by Belarus tyrant Alexander Lukashenko - the billionaire Wagner chief will pay compensation of almost half a million pounds to the families of the slain Russian airmen”

Medvedchuk was involved in Prigozhin’s rebellion
The column of wagners ate free & poured fuel at Putin’s godfather’s gas stations while moving to Moscow.
Prigo is not alone. Many Russians want the fall of the Kremlin regime. This is the beginning of the end of the RF.

With Wagner dissolved and Prigozhin exiled, what reason does Putin have to honor his deal? I think it's just as likely Prigozhin will be "gone" in a few months. While it was easy for Prig to make dramatic rants against those running the war, Shoigu and Gerasimov have to run the war in the real world, where losses are huge, ammo, weapons and manpower is limited, and the enemy has a say in everything you do.
To loosely paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld, "Russia is fighting this war with the army it has, not the army the world thought it had". And that army is a shadow of what it was on 24 Feb 2022, and a little less every day.
All that said, Putin has a problem of public perception and support. Russian people were CHEERING as RUSSIAN helicopters and planes were falling to earth in flames. They were cheering "hero" Prigozhin as he departed Rostov on Don. That is huge division. Ask them on camera today and those who cheered will parrot "according to plan" and support for Putin. But we saw what they really think, for just a moment. So, to tie back to the opening question, maybe that's a reason to honor the deal.

“In the direction of Bakhmut, our units are taking the initiative, continuing assault actions, and are crowding the enemy. During the day, 600-1000 meters were covered on the southern and northern flanks around Bakhmut,” said Serhii Cherevaty, spokesman of the Eastern Group.
I suspect he even had some assurances. But what he got was their neutrality. They didn't fight him, but they didn't join him either. I suspect the FSB is busy finding anyone who collaborated in any manner.
