It actually appears that they compartmentalized that event so well that the government really and truly doesn't have access to the materials.

General Jesse Marcel, Jr posted frequently on this forum before he died. His father, also a general when he died, was the major Jesse Marcel that is shown in the photograph holding the "debris". Both announced on their death beds that it was an ET crash that was covered up.

It's just tough to believe an alien race could get all the way here from another star but they'd have trouble navigating the skies over Roswell, New Mexico.

MOGUL was the cover up. Generals Jesse Marcel Jr & Sr. both explained on their deathbeds that the incident was indeed an ET craft that was covered up. General Haut did the same on his deathbed. So did about four other officers and one senior NCO.

It seems the craft was struck by lightning. Navigation and distance usually do not correlate with accidents.

The Roswell craft appeared to have been struck by lightning. It also seems that the Greys are biological robots, with the intelligence behind the craft located elsewhere.
