Check and I think you’ll find that Christie publicly blamed Trump for getting Covid, and said he stupidly didn’t wear a mask at a White House event, and called masks a “proven” way to prevent getting Covid. He said he regretted masks became a partisan issue, and gave the public a warning - wear that mask or you will regret it.
