Ukraine’s defence forces destroyed four out of six Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and six out of eight Shahed-136/131 attack drones Russia launched on Ukraine on the night of 3-4 June.

QUOTE from the General Staff: “Last night the enemy deployed Kh-101/Kh-555 air-to-surface cruise missiles and Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones. According to the most up-to-date information, the air commands’ forces and assets together with air defence units from other Ukrainian defence forces destroyed four out of six Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and six out of eight Shahed-136/131 attack drones.” [The Air Force of Ukraine has earlier reported that four out of six cruise missiles and three out of five Shahed drones were shot down on the night of 3-4 June – ed.].
DETAILS: Over the course of today, Russian forces conducted a total of 7 missile strikes and 25 airstrikes and deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) to conduct around 20 further attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops and on civilian settlements, injuring civilians and damaging private residential houses, educational establishments, and other civilian and administrative infrastructure facilities.
Russian forces are continuing to focus their main efforts on establishing full control over Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Over the course of the day, they carried out 23 assaults, all of which were repelled by Ukrainian defence forces.
There is no evidence that Russia is forming offensive units on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, and the operational situation there remains much the same as before.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russia continues to maintain its forces in areas near the Russian-Ukrainian border. A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group made an unsuccessful attempt to enter Ukraine in the vicinity of Zelene (Kharkiv Oblast). Russian forces conducted a missile strike in the vicinity of Vovchansk and several airstrikes near Ivashky, Ohirtseve and Hatyshche (Kharkiv Oblast). They deployed mortars and artillery to fire on Karpovychi (Chernihiv Oblast); Znob-Novhorodske, Shevchenkove, Brusky, Oleksandrivka, Sadky, Basivka, Hrabovske (Sumy Oblast); and Ivashky, Udy, Chervona Zoria, Hoptivka, Krasne, Zelene, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Vovchansk, Karaichne, Budarky and Chuhunivka (Kharkiv Oblast).
The Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Novoselivkse (Luhansk Oblast) on the Kupiansk front and deployed mortars and artillery to fire on Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dovhenke, Kutkivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Berestove (Kharkiv Oblast) and Novoselivske (Luhansk Oblast).
Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) on the Lyman front and shelled several frontline civilian settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Verkhnokamianske, Torske, Spirne and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces carried out assault operations in the vicinity of Ivanivske, but were unsuccessful. Russian aircraft struck areas in and around Vasiutynske, Toretsk and Pivnichne (Donetsk Oblast). Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Dyliivka and New-York (Donetsk Oblast) came under Russian fire.
Russian forces did not undertake offensive operations on the Avdiivka front.
They conducted an airstrike in the vicinity of Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast).
Russian forces also shelled Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Karlivka (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Marinka front, Ukraine’s defence forces repelled all 16 Russian assaults near the city of Marinka. Russian forces also conducted an airstrike on Marinka and shelled Hostre, Marinka and Pobieda (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces shelled several frontline settlements, including Vuhledar, Novoukrainka and Prechystivka (Donetsk Oblast).
Russian forces are on the defensive on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts. Russian troops are focusing their main efforts on an attempt to completely capture Luhansk and Donetsk regions, while Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled all 23 assault attempts carried out by the invaders.
That’s according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports citing an EVENING UPDATE.
In total, during the day, Ukraine’s Air Force delivered 10 strikes on enemy manpower and equipment clusters.
On their part, rocket and artillery units hit two Russian equipment clusters, an ammunition depot, two anti-aircraft missile systems, and two e-warfare systems.
Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a reconnaissance drone.
In total, during the day, the enemy forces carried out seven missile and 25 air strikes and about 20 attacks involving multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and populated areas. There are victims among the civilian population. A number of rivate residential buildings, educational facilities, and other objects of civilian and administrative infrastructure were damaged.
It is emphasized that the further missile and air strikes targeting the entire territory of Ukraine remain highly likely.
According to the General Staff, the operational situation has undergone no significant changes in the Volyn and Polissia directions, where no signs of Russian offensive groups being formed have been detected.
Russia continues to maintain its military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine on the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes. Today, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to deploy a sabotage group across the state border of Ukraine in the area of the village of Zelene, Kharkiv region.
The invaders launched a missile attack in the Vovchansk district, and air strikes - at the Ivashki, Ohirtseve, and Hatyshche districts of Kharkiv region. Russian mortars and artillery shelled Karpovychi of Chernihiv region, Znob-Novhorodsk, Shevchenko, Brusky, Oleksandrivka, Sadky, Basivka, and Hrabovske in Sumy region, as well as Ivashky, Udy, Chervona Zorya, Hoptivka, Krasne, Zelene, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Vovchansk, Karaichne, Budarky, and Chuhunivka of Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army carried out offensive actions near Novoselivske, Luhansk region, achieving no gains. Russian artillery and mortars fired at Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dovhenke, Kutkivka, Dvorichne, Zapadne, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, and Berestovka in Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. Enemy artillery strikes were recorded in the areas of settlements located along the contact line, in particular Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, Verkhnyokamyanske, Torske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Russians carried out offensive actions in the Ivanove area – with no gains. The invaders attacked the Vasyutinske, Toretsk, and Severne in Donetsk region employing their air force.

The districts of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, Diliivka, and New York of Donetsk region were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army carried out no offensive moves, instead launching an air strike in the Avdiivka area, artillery fired on the Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka districts of Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, during the current day, the Russian army conducted offensive operations in the Maryinka area. Defenders repelled all 16 enemy attacks. The invaders also carried out an airstrike targeting the town. Hostre, Maryinka, and Pobieda of Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
On the Shakhtarske direction, the Russians shelled settlements bordering the combat line, in particular, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novoukrainka in Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops continue to conduct defensive operations. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the Beryslav and Vesele regions of Kherson region.
Russian artillery hit Vilne Pole, Zelene Pole, Novopil, and Temyrivka in Donetsk region, Olhivske, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region, Kherson, Kozatske, Tyahinka, Ivanivka, Dniprovske, and Kizomys in Kherson region.
According to the General Staff, the Russian army continues to suffer heavy manpower losses. It was established that over the past week, about 500 people from among the Russian former convicts arrived as reinforcement to one of the enemy units operating in the temporarily captured territory of Kharkiv region.
Amid the fire damage the Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted on the invaders’ positions, about a hundred people from the newly arrived reinforcements suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity, including non-life-threatening ones. About 80 more soldiers fled from their positions after the attack.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the night of Sunday, June 4, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with Kh-101/Kh-555 air-based cruise missiles and Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 one-way attack drones.
Defense forces destroyed four out of six missiles and six out of eight attack drones, the General Staff said in an update.

The Russian Volunteer Corps and Freedom of Russia Legion crossed into the Belgorod region again and are still there after four days. They have been making progress towards the city of Shebekino as the regular Russian military fires on their own city and civilians to try and eliminate the partisan forces.
The Wagner Group has claimed they are going to Belgorod as they look for an excuse to leave Ukraine in advance of Ukraine’s upcoming counteroffensive.

Border guards destroyed two enemy Shahed UAVs in Chernihiv and Sumy regions last night. Another UAV was neutralized and now it is searched for.

Yeah, that’s all well and good, except several times a day, the “Latest Posts” feed is so clogged up with their crap, it’s impossible to ignore it.
I still say a good solution would be to have one daily thread for *all* Uke-Rus articles. All of their articles, links, comments, insults consolidated onto one thread. This would cut down on forum pollution, but the spammers and their fans would still have a place to discuss their favorite obsession.
The same is done with the Q-related articles (and those people are much nicer, but that’s beside the point) and it seems to be working.

A kamikaze drone or suicide drone is an aerial weapon system category. This drone munition can loiter or wait passively around the target area for some time and attack only when target is located. A kamikaze drone enables a faster reaction against hidden targets that emerge for short periods and allows selective targeting as the attack can be changed midflight or aborted.
Their airspeed is slow compared to cruise missiles. Loitering munitions fit between cruise missiles and unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs). Cruise missiles do not wait passively & UCAV’s have
loitering built-in warhead munition to be expended in an attack.
