No. it isn’t.
I don’t pay the Advantage premium either. Some plans have no monthly premiums. I do have some copays.
Anyone even using the letters HMO together should be skinned alive and rolled in rock salt (except you of course). I had an HMO once, thinking it would save me money. My nether area is still stretched and sore from their treatment. Never again.
In my experience HMOs are fine as long as you’re not very sick!
The more I read about the current MA preferred provider plans the more impressed I am. Much changed from 3 years ago.
Check out Medicare Supplements. We use Mutual of Omaha. It allowed us to see the doctor we have trusted for decades. And the Supplements are more flexible. Things can change as you age.
I chose a Medicare Advantage plan some two years ago and couldn’t be happier with my coverage. Many of my prescriptions have a zero co-pay and my out of pocket costs even for seeing specialists are less than $25. Customer service has also been great. There are a few downsides. The available dental coverage is not as good as a full separate dental plan. Out of network could also be less than average. However, I plan on staying with this plan
Thanks! Will do.
Looks like PedoJoe knuckled under to insurance company lobbyists...Medicare “Advantage” rates not “cut” as much as previously stated in the thread article (never real cuts, just reductions in “expected increases”). See:
