Can you say choked under the national spotlight! Ron got out ahead of his skies, I have my doubts he can recover for 2028. But you never know.

Scott Walker redux. If he begins consulting with Rove, he’s done forever.

Conservatives need to keep their powder dry.

We have another year of unfolding history to pass before deciding a course of action.

Keep your eyes and ears open and be as discerning as possible with the sources you trust.

If Trump is unavailable for any reason, it is important not to have already crippled the next best alternative.

You do make a good point. RdS might want to consider that as well and not alienate the MAGA base. Mealy mouthed equivocation on the Uke quagmire can do exactly that.

The GOP Candidate needs to be able to win the mushy middle in AZ. NV, PA, MI, VA and WI. That's reality.

I hope I am wrong, but when DeSantis jumps in the race and mixes it up with Trump he will only hurt us because Trump will win the nomination. If DeSantis keeps a few points of his votes (which he probably will - he has some solid support) he will cripple Trump in the general election.

DeSantis will cripple his presidential aspirations permanently because there are a huge number of MAGA voters who will blame him for damage to Trump AND who will never vote for him.

DeSantis (I am somewhat favorable of him for a GOPe type) is either not as smart as people think or he is getting horrible advice from a GOPe class of donors looking for the “anyone other than Trump” guy. I suspect it is the latter.

This says it all -

Quite simply the America-First agenda puts *their* money at stake, and collectively that amounts to trillions of dollars in multinational globalist financial control.

*Their* meaning the GOPe. And they support RdS simply because he's "anyone but Trump".

Yes, he is getting horrible advice by going with the GOPe.

I thought that Ron would split the MAGA vote with Trump, by appealing to those voters who are pro-American, pro-middle class, don’t like to be told they are racists because their skin happens to be white (can you imagine that it would come to that), don’t like to be told they not only must accept people who are sexually different or attracted to their same sex, but must embrace it and relish their fetishes, people who don’t like America involved in every international dispute, people who don’t like union bosses, government health “experts” and elite university professors pushing them around.

Ron represented parents very well, and in a decidedly MAGA way, and sent illegals to liberal strongholds as a power move, and that meant he appealed to MAGA. But on everything else, he seems to be going to Linda Graham, Bill Kristol and Mitch McConnell. What the HELL, Ron???
As the author said:

Throughout the first half of 2022 I was saying there’s no way the GOPe wing would be this stupid.

The Stupid Party is GOPe. Always has been.

The GOPe is the same kind of stupid as the big-city democrats.

The GOPe does the bidding of their corporate masters and donors just like the democrats do the bidding of the far left nutjobs.

American politics are primarily governed by donors and bad ideas on both sides of the aisle.

We have the neocons and Chamber of Commerce and the left has the academic/media/big tech cabal along with the banksters.

This is why Trump is so popular with the base and why Bernie had such a following. They are “counter-culture” to the dominant “politics”.

It’s a shame, really.

The values of MAGA are just American values—the middle and working class—that ought to be what most politicians want to represent.

And yet the majority of Wash DC disdains them.

Why? And why have politicians gotten so much power while turning their nose up at them?

This sums up DeSantis very well:

As I think back to my own viewpoint in early 2022, I have completely changed my opinion on Ron DeSantis as a smart politician. He is not as smart as I was giving him credit for. In fact, this entire RdS 2024 operation simply affirms they really are that stupid. Desperate and stupid.

Other than possibly Va., Trump did precisely that in ‘20. The big question is how much cheating will he have to overcome the next time, the same or more.

We ran Mastreano in PA, and he cost us the State House.I don't think that Trump can win PA, GA, AZ or WI. We can't win without them. It should not be that way, but sadly it is.

I’m a Trump only voter. Without Trump the republican party in Washington is worthless. If they somehow disqualify him or imprison him, I will not be voting. Hell, if that happens the country will become very unstable. 2024 elections won’t even matter.

Trump got 74,000,000 votes, a record for any, ANY sitting President, BY FAR. What we have to do is prevent election fraud.
