The farmers aren’t even allowed to sell their land to the highest bidder, but would be required to sell it yo the government.
The Dutch farmers’ protest IS part of the larger effort against the WEF types, whether this author recognizes that fact or not. In fact, this entire description of the “true” cause of the protests is a perfect example of revolutionary societal change being implemented through the banality of government regulations. You want to destroy an industry or a people? You don’t need to send in tanks - you just tax and regulate them to death. Think Holodomor.
A very similar extremist method is employed here in the USA.
NGOs and leftist lobby groups sue government agencies demanding strict regulations, under broad and unclear permissions granted by Congress. Fed.gov agencies, then throw up their hands (and money to NGOs) and say "Sorry, nothing we can do! Its what the courts said!"
Europeans will twist themselves into pretzels to keep from being associated with those uncouth, ignorant, right wing conspiracy theorists. They’re educated and enlightened, doncha know.
“The Dutch will own nothing and love it. So will Americans” - Klaus Schwab
Do you want a “Hongerwinter”? Because that’s how you get a “Hongerwinter”.
Ridiculous! The “dangerous pollutant” NITROGEN IS 78% OF EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE. The whole premise is STUPID and is meant to get STUPID PEOPLE on board the campaign to destroy the Netherlands’ healthy agricultural sector. Can’t have those “Kulaks” running around, don’t cha know.
This is ultimately about a group of farmers feeling unheard and unwelcome in spite of all they have done to improve humanity, farmers who simply want to maintain their way of life, and a government dominated by out of touch urban people who have refused to understand this.
The two things mentioned are not irreconcilable. They describe an underlying reality.
“The Dutch government unlike other EU countries takes measuring nitrogen very seriously and use a method called Kritische Depositie Waarde (Nitogen Critical Loads) which is the amount of nitrogen a nature area can handle before it will affect the biodiversity. If the amount goes over a certain threshold then the country is legally not allowed to produce more nitrogen per the EU rules thus putting entire projects on pause. That threshold in The Netherlands is currently notoriously low (0,0001 mol per hectare). In contrast Germany is 7 mol.”
If the above is true, why is the Netherland’s threshold so incredibly low and Germany’s so high? The inequilty in this is astounding.

And that urban-rural divide is only going to escalate. The Netherlands is merely the canary in the coalmine because we were the first country that had these climate activists go to court. It’s only a matter of time before it’s going to get really global.

1) What exactly is the issue with the source? Medium.com is sort of like Substack, or any other blogging/Internet publishing platform.
2) Is there something about the post which makes you think the author isn’t Dutch?
They follow some of the most strict rules in the world and these rules have not only come at the cost of their income but it has also taken a toll on them just having to even follow these rules. But farmers do it not just because they have to but because they genuinely care about nature. They have been raised around nature and animals all their lives. And what are they told as thanks? That they’re murderers, polluters, that they haven’t done enough, that they’re terrorists, that they’re low educated, that they have to be forcefully bought out.
