“Higher octane gas is less volatile than lower octane. Something else is occurring.”
But isn’t the gasoline you buy a mixture of hydrocarbons?
I’m not an expert. Maybe so-called high octane gas actually has no effect other effect than eliminating ping in higher compression engines, and the gasoline buyer’s is imagining that there is an improvement.
Unrelated trivia: piston aircraft engines still use leaded gas.
If your name isn’t “Biden,” “Schumer,” or “Pelosi” (or you have a “D” by your name) there isn’t much chance you can make me mad.
“That guy does really good, no-nonsense reviews. His rapid-fire delivery is a bit annoying, but there’s no fluff or BS, just solid facts.”
He is good! But he spoke so fast I could not absorb all the information. So I will watch it one or two more times. I have never seen such exhaustive testing of lawnmower engines. Four different mower engines.
Here is an easy peasy mower blade sharpener that attaches to your electric drill. Found on eBay too and less expensive ——
Sigh, waste of good Vodka.
I run regular unleaded in my Snapper self-propelled......runs fine. I don’t bother sharpening blades anymore - I buy a new one (cheap generic) every year and change it out after the first cut or two cuts up the winter’s accumulation of crap. I don’t want a Chinese mower, no matter how cheap - especially if I have to worry about shavings in the oil.
I will look for shavings and let you know. You can remind me if you like. What do you do with the nearly new lawn mowers you get rid of?
New blade - mowers usually last me many years.
Ha! I thought that for you, a new mower every year. Will try to look for metal filing in the engine oil today. I have run my new CCP mower for 60 minutes
