My question then is, why would it be any different in a second Trump term? If Trump is reelected in 2024, the Senate Majority leader will be either Chuck Schumer or Mitch McConnell. The president’s key appointments must be approved by the Senate. Schumer or McConnell will be the gatekeeper.
