I got lucky and transitioned and got hired to work at a Cisco System Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for about 2 years, then went to work as a contractor with EDS working a major project as Bank of America, replacing all routers and adding 2 new circuits at all BofA consumer branches in the country.
Later when Cisco Voice was added we started rolling out Cisco Voice to Consumer Branches, I did that for 1 year and then transitioned to Enterprise Voice and rolled out Cisco Routers, Switches, and Voice Systems nationwide for BofA major sites for 3 more years.
Later BofA bought out Merrill Lynch and Countrywide Mortgage and hung on for another couple of years, all together we rolled out somewhere near 400,000 phones and associated Call Manager systems.

The 1st mainframes I worked on were Burroughs 3500/3700...

Ah, I think that’s Burroughs Medium Systems, I originally started out supporting Burroughs 1700/B1800/B1900 and later the A-Series Mainframes.
Because I was the low man on the totem pole, I got some time supporting L-Series accounting machines, with mylar paper tape machines, you had to go to Tampa to modify the source code and compile them on Medium Systems Burroughs mainframes and punch out the mylar tape programs and utilities.

Conspiracy theory thought: Is this in preparation for the next crash to be ignored and called a glitch.
Look at the strange things happening in the USA recently, multiple Power Substations have been attacked, most have been written off as local thugs trying to rob places by cutting power to certain areas, the ATC went down and the FAA ordered a ground stop for the first time since 9/11, today the NYSE halted trading on dozens of stocks at the opening.
The WEF recently practiced a War game about a worldwide cyber attack, the last time they did this was in 2019 when they wargamed a worldwide pandemic right before a supposed worldwide pandemic actually happened.
I’m not saying any of this is connected but it’s interesting and worth paying attention to.
