Calm down there, big fellow. I was just kind of kidding, but it is reality, and there’s nothing to be done about it. As far as “let them reinvest it elsewhere”; them who, invest what, and where?

We disagree on this point. There's a way to make this work, but I do agree that getting it done would be both political suicide and the best remediation for our current ills.
