Why wasn’t this “Framework” done a month ago, instead of waiting until
McCarthy’s head was on the chopping block.

I’ve found that when people want something so badly they’ll give up anything to get it, they’re the last people you really want to have it.

If they go with the one member challenge to oust the spkr, well we already know not much will get done as it is. Quite possible the democommies will abuse that. 🤔

Lawmakers said the framework gives members of the House Freedom Caucus (HFC) who have been resisting McCarthy virtually everything they’ve been asking for. That includes a stronger HFC representation on key House committees, guardrails aimed at curbing excessive federal spending, and allowing just a single member of the House to make a motion to replace the speaker, lawmakers familiar with the framework told Fox News. All good, McCarthy should have done this months ago. But he got the carpet pulled out from under him when his Red wave was only a trickle and he could no longer dismiss the wants of the HFC.

My gut tells me that McCarthy will not honor any deal if it gets in his way.

McCarthy tried to hold out against the freedom caucus. They called his hand and he did not have cards.
It us good the HFC is getting every concession they are asking for.
And everyday without a functional government is a good day by me.

The so-called “freedom caucus” wanted the spectacle. They are pompous hostage takers holding up the start of the new Congress. McCarthy had been negotiating and lining up votes for months.

To: tennmountainman
Exactly,
GOPe were just arrogant.. “It’s my time”... rather than actually doing the work needed just expected it handed to them...
Same nonsense that gave us McCain, Dole and Romney... it was their “time” didn’t matter whether they were the best candidate for the job.
To: newzjunkey
No doubt most GOP Congresscritters have been bought and paid for by
McCarthy.

True.
However, I can think of several Uniparty Republicrats and a couple or three Freedom Caucus members that might do the same.

Well a lot now us see them as standing up to remove corruption. Since you support rinos you must also be corrupt.

And as it turns out he didn’t have the votes. He’s about as RINO as you can get.

There is no political advantage in preventing a crisis, only in managing one.

Markets are soaring. Money printing will resume it appears. Wall Street approves.
I have little faith in a McCarthy-run House to rein in the insane borrowing.

These are Hannity's worthless talking points. You sound like a McCarthy staffer. Are you happy with the omnibus bill?
