Per @oryxspioenkop, Turkey has provided Ukraine with an unknown number of ROKETSAN MCL MLRS and TRLG 230 rockets. Broadly comparable to the GMLRS, but they have laser guidance and can hit targets painted by the TB-2. MCL is a modular system that will replace all other MLRS Turkey operates.

@DefMon3 posted this map showing what the provision of GLSDBs (also with a 150km range) would look like.

Posted on Twitter by @iaponomarenko, apparently from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. It indicates that there are about 1,500 more assorted Russian precision strike missiles remaining in inventory (not counting S-300 Air Defense missiles adapted for ground attack). That is out of about 3,300 they had before the war, plus about another 700 produced during the war. Looks like they can keep firing waves through the Winter, and the Ukrainian electrical grid will be at great risk, and in great need of upgraded Air Defense.

Maybe 10th time is the charm.

“Here we go again: “The Biden administration plans to sell Ukraine four MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones that can be armed with Hellfire missiles for battlefield use against Russia, three people familiar with the situation said.” -Reuters”

Thanks, I saw that posting from PIF, about Russian missile use. His is from October 12th, and mine is from November 18th.

His focuses on the best Russian missiles that they had in quantity (longest range, biggest payloads, most accurate). Mine includes other missiles also being used. By comparing, we can get an estimate of use over the last month for their top three types. Iskander use seems to have dried to a trickle (5/month), and that is the type that has been most depleted (87% gone).

Also, there is some info on production since the start of the war. It doesn’t tell us if production is speeding up or slowing down, but does provide a rough total for replacements to date. It indicates that Russia has been able to produce about 120 each of their good Kh-101 and Kalibr cruise missiles, and about 50 of the big surface to surface Iskanders, since the war started. But the biggest production they have had (~360) has been shorter range, lower payload, less effective Kh-35s (anti-ship missiles, like an Exocet.

Not holding breath, and may be so “dumbed down” that they will be as effective as the Switchblade series, especially the 600 which seems to be a huge dud.

Back in the 60s & 70s we had the Fulton Recovery System. I don’t think it was ever used in Vietnam to rescue a downed aircrew. Here’s a link:

Since the Russians are only flying CAS missions, the Ukrainians are forward deploying their NASAMs.

My original thought was that Ukraine would use NASAMs for High Value Asset Protection (HVAP).

BURN RATE: Russia’s Kalibr 3M/54 cruise missile is used to attack UKR cities. Earlier in the war, RU launched as many as 24 Kalibr missiles a day. With stocks now running out, UKR sources report that in OCT, Russia carried out only five Kalibr 3M/54 launches in the entire month.

A Russian woman who posted video of herself taunting Ukrainian refugees on the streets of Germany a few months ago, was expelled from Germany today because of it.

Excerpt from the Summary of the daily livestream with Aleksey Arestovych, kindly brought to you by Anastasiya: @Anastasiya1451A (via https://twitter.com/wartranslated )

“The West is preparing for the post-Putin world

Several resolutions and national & EU parliaments declared Russia a terrorist state & state sponsor of terrorism, and now the calls for a tribunal for the Russian war criminals are all preparations for the post-Putin world. In the new security construct for the West, Russia will be ostracized, sanctioned, and pressured to give up its nuclear arsenal.

The de-militarization & de-nuclearization of Russia may be preferable for the new, post-Putin, Russian government to avoid internal conflicts and civil war.”
