It’s not just women. Men I know in RL, manly mature conservative men who have or do run businesses and been successful in their professions, are fed up with Trump, too, all former strong supporters of his.

Real grownup men know there is a time for fighting words and a time to keep one’s council. Grownup men know to give credit where it’s due. How to be a good manager and team player. They are man enough to take blame when they make a mistake or do something foolish.

In his own words, Trump is attacking two allies, two popular governors who just won elections. He’s demanding all credit for all wins, but refusing to take blame for any losses.

I don’t understand football all that well, so please forgive me any errors here, but he’s acting like a junior high quarterback who is enraged because the cute cheerleaders are shaking their pompoms for other team members who just completed a touchdown instead of giving him all the glory. So he attacks his team members — who have said nary a word against him — and demands all credit and attention for himself, while refusing to take responsibility for his own fumbles and unforced errors. It’s not a good look to other *men*.

Right. I don’t mean people necessarily flipping between Trump and someone else at this point in terms of preference. I’m talking more about those who may have thought “Trump or nobody”. There’s nobody running for the GOP nomination — other than the Cheney/Kinzinger types — for whom I would not vote in the general. Regardless of who I might prefer as my top choice.

If DeSantis doesn't agree with and/or doesn't want to be associated with Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, and Chris Christie and their push for DeSantis while they simultaneously criticize Trump then he should say so.

Thanks. DeSantis could do that, but I also believe that he shouldn't have to be put on the defensive, since there's no proof he's done anything wrong yet. When politicians are attacked, they don't have to respond to every attack, the term as I'm sure you know is "taking the high road" and I think it is perfectly understandable fo him to do that, until any actual evidence of collusion is brought forth.

I've seen no confirmable evidence of what Baris said, and I have not referred to it here.

There's another old saying, that "the burden of proof is on the accuser" and so far there doesn't seem to be hard evidence whatsoever of collusion going on. Trump or his supporters, of which there are millions, should be obligated to provide at least some proof, before Trump's attack can be justified, in my opinion. And even then Trump's attacks should be more focused about what his concerns are, rather than just claiming things like DeSantis is "just an average Governor" which I don't think anyone believes.

Unfortunately I expect Trump and his supporters to keep attacking DeSantis with no concrete evidence, and DeSantis to just keep taking the high road. Who that is working out better for remains to be seen.

Succinct. I think Trump’s latest antics have made him unelectable in a national context. It’s almost as if he finally cracked after 6 years of relentless attacks.

Yes, and I wish you were advising him and he’d listen to you. But it’s not in his nature to listen to such advice.

Good comments—but there is more...

When you mentor someone you want them to succeed.

You support them in every way you can.

You cheer on their success, and take great pride in it.

You never try to remind people that you were the reason for their success.

Never.

It is inexcusable and unforgivable.

I’m voting for Trump.
In the coming 2024 election, the Presidency will be stolen again anyway.

Succinct is good and you did it well. Agree.

My turn to try for succinct: The saddest thing is, he may make it unlikely his movement will succeed. He may well tear it all down (see post #130).

… Goodbye lover. Ask McConnell for a job. I’m sure his office will give you some nice greetings.…

Lover, hardly. You’re not my type.
Retired. Don’t need a job

Liked what Trump accomplished. Now he should just STFU

Agree all the way. I cherish my mentors and am happy with and for and proud of those I have mentored, not because I “paid it forward” to them, but in their own right. Whatever I passed on to them was partly on loan from my own mentors, anyway, and they did well with it *themselves* and *should* have the credit.

But Trump is not the mentoring type. At least not when it comes to politics.

Yeah, no sh*t.

MAGA Inc. is Trump's Super PAC, the largest war chest in the GOP and he spent a whopping $8.4 million out of it. Trump also has the Save America PAC.

Your guess is as good as mine but in observation, when things dont make sense then it’s obvious that not all the facts are known. We’ve been played so many times that I find it’s best to be ready for anything. There’s a reason why God gave us 2 eyes, ears, nostrils, and nuts, yet only 1 mouth.

Which POTUS was as successful as Trump? Look at what Trump accomplished:

Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything
down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way;
China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
US companies were bringing home the jobs due to well executed tax treatments;
Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated.
Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?
