I know the stress son and Father must have been under.
It freaks me out just to wear the POW-MIA hat my brother gave me, and he worked in that organization.
I wear it and people mention it. I have to admit I do it in memory of my brother...who didn’t die, he just worked with veterans organizations.
It is a great hat, and I love it but wear it sparingly.
My Dad who joined the Navy at age 17 after Dec 7, 1941 and put in 55 years of military and civilian work for the government would tan my hide if I lied.
I remember getting the elbow as they paused playing the National Anthem in the VFW until I doffed my baseball cap. His eyes were on fire. I don’t know if enough veterans are still voting to make a difference what Mr Shavers said, but 30 years ago he would be toast.
I can’t imagine lying about service, it must be a sense of stress constantly waiting to be found out.
It sure was BITD. I grew up in Kitsap county, with Bangor base, Keyport and PSNS being the biggest employers in the county for years. I moved and can’t feel the pulse of the community. There are a lot of civilian contractors now, not so many Federal employees I would think.
“This is the kind of politics that’s tearing apart families and communities, and my campaign is about healing and moving forward.”
He's blaming Right Wing Extremism (i.e., Trump) for his stolen valor lies. He must be seeking support from Biden and Pelosi.
The disease that has infected the delusional Left is some powerful magick.
