Because repubs look like weak simps if they don’t impeach. They set the standard of impeachment for the purpose of leading every article with that phrase.
Republicans should learn from the Dems’ ruthless use of power to advance their agenda.
I can’t wait to what McCarthy looks like in that dress.
Then McCarthy can’t be speaker.
It’s time for a GOP speaker with a spine.
More proof of the uniparty.
Mine too!!
You BETTER NOT BE VOTED IN, BUD!!
Prime example of why McCarthy has to be replaced ASAP. He and RINOs like him must go.
Only if Newt Gingrich is right and there is a turnover in the House comparable to 1920, when the GOP picked up 63 seats is there a possibility of overturning McCarthy. The Democrats are better at election fraud than they were a century ago.
Everything should be on the table. McCarthy is an ass.
Why say that “he” won’t impeach? It takes more than one person to impeach. I’m sick of the media acting like one or two people are in control of a body of several hundred members.
They won’t repeal Obama Care either.
.
Exactly!
It’s so bad - agencies stopped responding to Minority requests regarding oversight.
And the reason they use these tactics is they know it won’t be used by Republicans against them.
NEVER trust deep-state RINOs. McCarthy is a swamp denizen.
“The select committee will be 13 members large. Pelosi will appoint all 13, though she’ll consult with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in choosing five of them.
The chair of the committee, who Pelosi will appoint, will have unilateral subpoena power.”
Pelosi rejected McCarthy’s selections.
Subpoenas, Raids, Recusals, Prosecutions, and Impeachment are exclusive tools of Democrats. Play that out …. good luck.
Well, Biden is the gift that keeps on giving.
Impeaching him may not be a good thing if he can be contained.
That’s where the idea falls apart — relying on Republicans to do the right thing…
.
Tell us when this was last used successfully- and how long states have to ratify.
By all means.
You FR eepers are such knee-jerks. Trying to impeach then convict Biden is futile, fruitless and dumb. McKarthy is being smart in this.
But he sure as hell better ram legislation to build the border wall, kill the 87,000 IRS agents, cut the budget for the FBI, THE DOJ, THE ED and Transportation Dept, ...
And INVESTIGATE the sh1t out of those corrupt high techs, media, colleges, ...
Biden might veto, but let him.
I don’t deny that the arguments in favor of impeachment have merit. I would not have been mostly blasted on this thread if there weren’t valid reasons for doing so. I just think that this “go nowhere and just do it for the publicity” impeachment process has to end.
As to any control a GOP House would have over Biden it is limited to budget related items. But that can be very broad. We just have to wait and see whether they are willing to exercise that power. Your reservations on the subject certainly are backed by precedent. But the overspending and over-regulation has to stop someday and we are supposedly on the verge of electing a bunch of rebels who also think so.
And the idea of kicking Biden out of office doesn’t seem wise to me. The goofy replacement could get us in all kinds of trouble. Let Trump or DeSantis toss him out in 2024.
WTH are you talking about?
The last proposed amendment by Congress that was ratified was the 27th amendment in 1992, and was proposed in 1789.
The 26th amendment was proposed in March 1971 and ratified in July 1971.
Congress decides how long each proposed amendment has to be ratified before the proposal expires.
The last proposed amendment to not be ratified was proposed in 1978 and expired in 1985. It was proposed to repeal the 23rd amendment and give the District of Columbia full Congressional representation in Congress.
