Surrendering to Russia’s nuclear blackmail won’t end well. Guaranteed. Chinese communists. Iranian mullahs. They are all watching and perceiving weakness in a divided west.

Some folks are getting caught up in cynical midterm politics and avoiding facing the real danger here that America projecting weakness brings to all of us. Reagan bequeathed us Peace Through Strength conservativism and we must neve betray him.

This is not about not interfering, this is about withdrawing long-time NATO/American support because we were ordered to by Russia or they would nuke us.

This is regional to NATO and our alliance, in fact, Russia and their ‘regional conflicts’ is the very reason for our regional alliance.

“Really good you outed yourself.”

What was the US nuclear posture during the Cold War?

“SpeedyInTexas: “I would rather the world end in nuclear war than yield to Little Pukin.”

Sadly, that is the thinking in the Neocon community - if they cannot take over the world and run things, what’s the point of even allowing the world to continue on.

And yes, you see that mentality here, non-stop.

No NATO has not done any pushing. The nations on the border with Russia have wanted to remain independent of the aggressive Russian expansion. It was the Czarist then Communist and now autocratic Russia that wishes dominate its neighbors. Do you not understand the 300 years of European history? Or are you just a Russian stooge?

Think: Which way has the border between NATO and Russia moved since the collapse of the USSR?

I was an old Cold Warrior too, when we were facing off against the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union is dead, but NATO marched east.

Hypothetical situation: America goes into a great depression on the level of Russia post-USSR in the 1990s. Can't afford to fuel our USN warships, they are rusting at the piers. Communist China moves into the vacuum.

You would be fine with this scenario, with Canada and Mexico joining "CATO," putting Chinese troops, tanks and missiles on our borders?

"No, CATO has not done any pushing. The nations on the border with America have wanted to remain independent of the aggressive American imperialist aggression." THINK.

.

So to be clear, you would be fine with Communist Chinese troops, tanks and missiles on our borders, as long as Canada and Mexico "invited" them in, after joining CATO?

A very idiotic storyline. The whole world would be quiet a mess in such a world. I doubt if any such an alliance would be likely or possible.

"A very idiotic storyline."

Not from the Russian POV, looking at NATO pushing eastward during the 1990s, despite promises not to, while Russia was flat on its back.
