Fair points—but unfair and even cruel comments and speculation are going to happen no matter what you and I do.
The new generation is going to have to toughen up—in a hurry.
You are right, of course. Sadly right.
Perhaps it’s just a tiny drop in the ocean of the internet, but, personally, I’d rather not contribute to the unfairness and cruelty. It won’t make any difference, of course, but at least I can look in the mirror at the end of the day.
It’s not just the internet. It seems our society just keeps more and more coarse, more mean-spirited, more vulgar, nastier, more crass. Mutual respect, goodwill, manners, even basic human decency are eroding. I have days I’m glad I’m getting old.
