The ‘locals’ can get a subpoena and the data are readily available from the cell or landline carrier.
There is no ‘tracing’ a call like the movies. The ‘sender’ is known to the network before the call ever completes.
It’s much like IP packets, but no fancy movie-magic hopping around routers crap. The cell network has to validate you to get on the network, knows your location, checks you with a central database, records those data, looks at where you want to terminate the call, and hands off the the endpoint or the next network in the chain.
*IF* this was a voice call, the calling phone can be located. It’s not like the movies, even with so-called burner phones.
If true, and I don’t doubt you, why don’t they get a warrant to unseal the VPN IP address? Maybe they will now that she’s been targeted twice.
This should be interference with congress. She is not able to sleep well because of this and it is impacting her duties as a congresscritter. This is an insurrection by the left.
Absolutely right. A little bit of a tangent: It’s ridiculous to have a separate crime of “attempted murder” on the books. If someone consciously plans to murder someone, and then tries to carry out that murder, they should not get a lesser charge just because they were unsuccessful in killing the person. They should receive exactly the same punishment as for a successful murder.
Someone in another thread says the perp(s) were using a burner phone.
I can go to Walmart right now, buy a burner phone and a 10$ prepaid sim, pay with cash, and then start it all up and make the call 10 minutes later 5 miles down the road.
After the call, put the phone and all packaging/paper in the Walmart bag with a brick and throw it off a bridge into a river.
You know if that had happen to AOC or some other lib nut, the FIBs would be all over it.
Why isn’t anyone being caught doing this? Where are all the articles about the FAR LEFT flag burners perpetrating the terrorism?
I call it homosupremacy .
One thing that works on this: burner phone
Couldn't agree more!!!
True, or in the old days use a pay phone.
But ... if someone was dumb enough to call from a residence or place of business, even on a burner phone, it narrows the search area for the po-po.
The ability to locate a device, by the cellular networks, is as good or better than what you saw in 2000 Mules.
911 can identify that the incoming call is from a burner phone. They need to understand that this could be a hoax immediately.
Local police 911 sees all incoming calls. Blocked or not. Spoofed, ..? Dunno.
He was a Life of Georgia Insurance Agent and his collection route was in South Rome around Lindale and Silver Creek.
Heres the thing.
They are hoping for multiple outcomes:
Either the police shoot her.
Or they do it a bunch of times so the police may stop coming, and then their team comes in and shoots her hecause the cops believe its another swatting call.
Everyone here says the feds know who did this. I am pretty sure that there are still ways to evade detection. Burner phones, stolen phones, use of unauthorized phones, ect... who knows what else.
A very clever person could probably avoid detection.
You are correct.
