The grid won't handle all the EVs and lithium mining constraints will impact production. Plastics and lubricant production will revert to coal as natural gas will be required to fill in the gaps on green energy. Good news is that food production will dwindle due to the attack on nitrogen, which will do two things. 1) Remove the wealth from individuals and give it to our wise leaders and 2) Starve a large part of the earth which will reduce electrical demand and free up capacity on the grid for EVs.

So basically, it's a win-win. /s

There will still be gas stations in 10 years. To get rid of gas stations would basically bring the whole country to a standstill. I don’t think the voters (even the loony left) is going to “stand still” for it. People still need food and clothing and all those things we like in order to maintain a certain lifestyle. Sooner or later even the greenies are going to wake up and realize the green new deal is hogwash.

So look for car parts to be nixed or become prohibitively expensive and then it will take time to ramp up domestic production

Some parts will be able to be 3d printed. As in Cuba, some parts will be modified from other cars parts, the art of rebuilding instead of replacing will come back. The cars that have too many computers will be a problem.
