[Quit spamming this thread with your bs neocon propaganda.]

I like to insert a little light to offset the gloom spread by the minions of the Prince of Darkness who is slaughtering Ukrainians in order to become Vladimir the Greater. Your Russian imperialist propaganda just doesn’t sit well. The site’s name is Free Republic, not Russian Empire.

it was a coup against a dictator

Yanukovych won a very close election in 2010 and the Ukrainians were furious about it. They thought the Orange Revolution would last forever, but it only lasted five years. After the Yanukovych election, the Ukrainians knew they would eventually have to disenfranchise the Russian half of their country.

I’m a Trumper not a neocon like you who wants endless and costly wars that wind up accomplishing nothing. Join the Dems, they’re the new war party.

To my knowledge, the Russian half of the country still gets a vote. In fact, Zelensky is the Russian half of the country. He was elected to mend relations with Russia. Putin invaded because he thought Zelensky would fold, being Russian-speaking and all. In fact, Ukrainian speakers thought he was a Russian mole. And Putin doubtless offered him generous sums of money to save himself the bother of even a special military operation. But Zelensky revealed his true inclinations when he said “I don’t need a ride; I need ammunition”. That was when Ukrainians-speakers who had previous doubts began to warm to Zelensky. At that point, they realized that whatever language he grew up with, he was one of them - a Ukrainian at heart.

Thanks for posting this as it is always refreshing to read a post by someone who is still able to think clearly. If the US would not have gotten involved in the first place either directly or in a roundabout way via NATO, chances are better than good Russia may have stayed away. Even so there always have been different groups of ethnicities in Ukraine with the temptation of getting into each other’s hair, so it would not have taken much to trigger some fall out which probably was another factor taken advantage of by the CIA.

I’m Republican, whatever the nominee, not a Russian imperialist like you. You’d be better off joining the Democrat party, because they are the party of subservience to foreign imperialists.

I voted for Trump again because he killed 200 Russians in Syria. If he had won in 2020, Russia would already be out of Ukraine, because F-35’s would be flying strike missions against Russian troops in Ukraine. That’s the reality of Trump for foreign despots - spit in his face, and he’ll take your head off. That’s what literally happened to the Iranian General, and the Democrats savaged him for it.

If bashing Russia’s skull in is neocon, then Trump is a neocon. He whacked Russians in Syria. He blocked Nordstream 2. He sanctioned the companies trying to hide behind European government shell companies. He exited arms agreements Russia was ignoring. He increased military spending to buy new weapons systems. After taking office, Biden immediately reversed sanctions on Nordstream 2 and tried re-entering arms agreements Russia was flouting. Basically, Biden, like the Democrat party, is a tough-talking doormat.

When I read people say that Russia is now our hope and not the U.S. - and I’ve literally read that on FR by people who have gone all the way down the WEF conspiracy hole - I have no qualms labelling them pro-Russian. Because they literally are.

Thank you for comment #9: outstanding explanation of one aspect of Russian thought patterns. Very important for understanding.

If Trump was in office he never would have provoked Russia in the first place by dangling NATO membership out to Ukraine, and none of this would have happened. Ukraine is now in shambles and a totally failed state which will never be reconstituted. And we’re on the hook for tens of billions more and counting. You neocons screw up everything you touch, and it winds up costing us big time, and achieves NOTHING.

To my knowledge, the Russian half of the country still gets a vote.

The states of Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk have not participated in elections since Luhansk and Donetsk declared independence in 2014. This is like Republicans trying to win a presidential election without Texas, Florida, and Missouri.

Here's Ukraine's problem in one graphic. The blue states will be annexed to Russia and the yellow states will be the new Ukraine. Unfortunately for Ukraine, this means goodbye Black Sea.

Never thought I’d see the day when so many self-described Republicans have literally become pro-Russian.

Anti-Zelensky is not the same as pro Russian.

Ukraine is a crime syndicate involving George Soros, Klaus Schwab, Jao Bai-din, Hunter Biden, Paul Pelosi, John Kerry Jr., Christopher Heinz (Kerry), and Alex Vindman. Some of that list are enemies of the Constitution, who created a criminally false impeachment of a sitting U.S. President. The entirety of that criminal cabal and their Ukrainian cohorts need to be charged and imprisoned.

Why is the American taxpayer having to pay all the salaries of Ukraine’s government workers? It is billions of dollars a month. Ukraine has no national security value to the USA and its citizens.

We are sending them American weapons and hurting our own military readiness by doing it.

It does not matter to Americans whether or not Ukraine survives as a separate nation.

This war is killing Ukrainians by the thousands and destroying their country. What is “winning” when you end up with a few survivors standing on a pile of rubble?

Ukraine has NO strategic value to the USA and is nothing more than a money-laundering convenience store for corrupt American politicians. It is also a major source of bioweapons development under U.S. control and funding.

Putin may be a tyrant but the world does not need to be destroyed to save Ukraine.

After the Maidan Square Coup, Obama congratulated Ukraine's coup regime for their "remarkable restraint." Do you work in the U.S. state department?
