: ) I’m not sure what my grandfather would say but it would be with an Italian accent which he never lost. It would probably be in English though. He told his children that they’re in America and must speak English.

As things are going now, it’s probably just as well my parents and grandparents are no longer concerned with the evils of this world.

As much as I miss my parents, I am glad they are not here to experience the decline of the Country they so loved. Dad was a waist gunner on a B-17 during WWII and came home injured with a Purple Heart. I would hate the idea of him thinking it was all for naught.

My Italian grandparents would not teach us to speak Italian. They believed that since the family were now Americans, we should speak English. My how times (and attitudes) have changed.
