I'd bet that the Pelosi's are big contributors to police benevolent societies out there, and have greased the palms of many politicians, and uniformed personnel over the years.
No. My security software didn’t say anything.
Politicians always seem to weasel out of the laws to which the rest of us are subject. A similar incident occurred recently in Minnesota where the Hennepin County Sheriff (a Democrat in a thoroughly Democratic county) rolled a county owned vehicle while driving at almost twice the legal blood alcohol limit at an estimated 120 mph. In addition he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was carrying a firearm while intoxicated. The usual slap on the wrist plea bargain and he continues to be the county sheriff although he has said he will not seek re-election. A Republican would have been immediately hounded out of office and likely give jail time.
BS.
They had it. What they did with it is another story. Likely deleted it.
Just like Epstein.
“I am sure he got more than one phone call. Lol.”
Not to mention a number of calls heading into the local police station such as...
“Do you have any idea who you arrested?!”
“You do understand that could have ramifications the next time your municipality needs federal dollars for an improvement project - right?”
“I feel that the decision to arrest and supporting the officer’s decision could have consequences, career-wise and electorally wise for just about everything involved - right?”
Reminds me of that news story from a couple of years ago about Bob Dylan wandering around without his ID in a hoodie in a seashore town where he would be appearing later that night. He was taken into custody by a young Hispanic female who had no idea who he was. Once they got down to the police station, older officers straightened it out. Supposedly he took the whole thing in stride, not making any kind of a fuss. Guess he felt old that day, though.
Meantime, I've had fantasies for the past 50 years of getting on an elevator with only one man in it, and it's Bob Dylan—and what would I say, right?
I’m 74 and have discovered that whereas a few years ago I could toss down two beers or two glasses of wine now I’m at 1/4th of that. My brain gets loopy much faster.
hmm. I wonder if I have a virus, everything seems to be working ok.
I was taking photos for the basketball hall of fame. This was the year the “dream team” was inducted. Before the rest of the media was released into the room, I spent about 15 minutes in the room with Basketball royalty. I am not a “fantasy” kind of guy…but it was impressive to see all of these guys acting like regular people before the crowds came in.
I found I had nothing to say to them.
You lived it!
I was being tongue in cheek, and obviously it doesn’t matter whether it was electric or not in the context of being inebriated. That said, if it were electric we would probably know this by now (i.e. virtue signaling).
True.
The Pelosi’s are worth over 100M. They can afford drivers and lawyers. Heck, lawyers would probably work for them for free.
Surprised their security people let him drive alone, too.
Failure to provide on a timely basis is punishable by the same sanctions as drunk driving itself.
CC
Define timely.
Well, if the body metabolizes .02/hour, then he was .16, which is pretty drunk, the equivalent of 8 or so beers or at least a bottle of wine. He's an alcoholic Jim.
