Your solution would also help with wages and housing.

That and they should have built enough desalination plants over the last few decades to make it a non issue.

Effin dicks!

Residential water use accounts for 12% of water usage.

Make commerce and agriculture do more to conserve! /S

Water in California is shared across three main sectors.
Statewide, average water use is roughly 50% environmental, 40% agricultural, and 10% urban(this report. others are only different by a few percent)

Still "Backing the Blue" folks?

I stopped backing the cops when they let the feral thugs wreak havoc on our cities while arresting Moms for taking their kids to the playground.

There is no drought in California. The rain patterns in California are well within the normal seasonal rain falls. The problem is that California's populations has nearly doubled since 1980 due, at least in part , to massive illegal immigration and the migration of a huge, dysfunctional welfare/homeless class. California population growth is outstripping the ability of it's water resources to supply the population explosion. The same can be said for Las Vegas and Phoenix. Massive population growth in Nevada, Arizona and California are simply creating excessive water demands that are becoming unsustainable. Lake Powell started filling in 1963 and did not reach full capacity until 1981 - almost 20 years. There is a need for far sighted leadership to address this long term shortfall. The visionaries who created the Colorado River dam system and the Central Arizona Project always envisioned a Phase III part of the project that included a canal that delivered desalinated water from the California Pacific ocean coast to the interior of Southern California and to Arizona via a link up to the Arizona CAP canal. This supply would take pressure off of the Arizona and California allotments from the Colorado River system and allow the up stream dams to supply Nevada and Utah.

“That and they should have built enough desalination plants over the last few decades to make it a non issue.”

Easy to say here, but since they require energy, they’re a non-starter.

I hope water watchers don’t happen in Colorado. You’d be surprised how dry that state can get.

Just rob a convenience store to cover the $500 fine.

No harm, no foul, right?
