RuZZia closing in on 50% tank loss rate. Just over 2 months of a special military operation.
Tanks don’t do well in static warfare. In fact in the modern technological era that features stealthy drones, they like naval surface combatants, may be obsolete and death traps for their crews. Many young men will die horrible deaths before “hidebound generals” and “battleship admirals” come to terms with the new realities.
BAYRAKTAR REMIX
Right on! The Soviets have lost almost HALF of their functional tanks!!!
Some to Javelins and RPGs...others to the elite warriors of the Ukrainian 43rd Motorised Tractor Division!!!
Right!
Maybe we (NATO) should be "making nice" with the Russians and offering them tanks (while surreptitiously supply the Ukrainians with NLAWS and Javelins).
Perfect way to "take out" their tank crews!
Regards,
We need to keep bleeding them out hard. We should leand lease about 100 A10’s to the Ukes. Fill the sky’s over the Ukraine with joyous BRRRAAAPPP...BRRRAAAPPP...BRRRAAAPPP noises.
Despite the myriad of images of destroyed tanks there is no proof as yet as to what actually blew them up.
One video of a tank being blown does not show or prove anything more than that, nor does it show what happened before or after, failed attempts, surrounding forces, etc. Whatever the video shows, ask what you do not see.

They have a big inventory of tanks in storage (many likely useless, but still, a lot). They have already replaced some, and can likely muster more gradually from out of stocks (especially if operations grind down to more of a lower intensity, static trench warfare condition).
Trained and effective crews are likely to be a harder constraint on Russian Forces. A couple of more months like this, and they might well be resembling armed gangs, more than a professional Army.
It is a catchy tune.
“there is no proof as yet as to what actually blew them up.”
The Ukrainians have their internal reporting, but the credibility of what they might report externally is naturally in doubt during war.
The indications that I have heard is that there has been quite a mix of causes for Russian tank losses - Yes, guided missiles like Javelin and NLAWs, as well as other direct fire Infantry weapons like RPGs; but also artillery, drone attacks, aviation, mines, tank on tank engagements, and a large number just abandoned or broken down/out of fuel.
“Western officials: Ukraine “taking some losses [but] certainly not at the sort of scale [of] Russian forces. Also: “losses on Russian forces were assessed to be having a significant impact on the will to fight of wider Russian forces...Ukrainian losses are not affecting...morale””
While Russia has certainly lost a lot of armor, I don't think the "1200 tanks" is still relevant. Once they figured out that this thing wasn't going to be the cake-walk they thought, Russia almost certainly ramped up to repair, update and activate some of their thousands of mothballed tanks, as well as moved armor from other areas of Russia to support the war.
“Never assume you’re safe in a war zone.
This #Russian soldier assumed he was.
He wasn’t.”

Our OSINT group is recommending that for "Photo bomb of the Year".
I’m sure RuZZia has attempted to add tanks to the war. But what is that number?
I cant track against a number I dont have.
Russian officer says that Russia has 25,900 dead and that official statistics are highly understated.
They had also complained about the tictok brigade sitting in the back looting. Which is relevant as there are reports that they engaged in a fire fight with another Russian unit over the division of loot.
