The Ukrainians need to avoid being baited into massed frontal assaults on Russian defensive positions.

In a war of attrition, the Russians have a lot more cannon fodder.

They need to bleed and starve the Russian forces, inflicting losses economically.

The first 9 paragraphs are sprinkled with 7 instances of ‘false’. This reads like it was written by NPR.

The ‘war’ is mainly in the eneMedia, and that includes this “assessment”.

There are lessons to be learned here if only our Political and Military leaders are able to learn.

1st lesson is that the battlefield has changed.

Small (relatively) cheap weapons are shifting the balance of power between aircraft and armor against light infantry to where the infantry has the advantage.

Battleships became obsolete in the first days of WWII when Aircraft carriers appeared on the scene. Similar changes are taking place in Ukraine today.

2nd lesson (and this is one even the ancient commander’s understood but evidently the Russian high command hasn’t) is you need a secure supply line.

3rd lesson (and again this is one both the Russians and American commanders should have learned in Afghanistan and Iraq) is that controlling urban areas is not winning the war.

Other than for a political distraction why Biden wants to send our military into that meat grinder I don’t know. Where are all those brave Generals that were ready to block anything President Trump did? Why are they not speaking out against any use of our military in Ukraine?

I dont think either party is in a position to make this a cannon fodder war yet.

When the Russians announce a mobilization of reservists, that will mark a significant change.

I don’t believe anything from the US media. If this report was prepared by a US agency then take it with a grain of salt. The US media has NO credibility, none, zero, nada. /spit

Does Biden really want to send U.S troops into Ukraine? Perhaps his handlers do, as do the Clinton faction in the Democratic Party and the GOP neocons, but Russia is not Serbia, Iraq, or Libya. American, British and Polish forces may get hit by tactical nuclear weapons if they make significant progress against the Russian Army. Then, Katy bar the door!

When you put it that way, I doubt Biden even knows where he is yet alone making any decisions.

Agreed. This seems to be a think tank organization. One of the principals is retired General Jack Keane, Fox News commentator and head of the company that provides Humvees to our military. Another principal who also founded the organization is sister-in-law of Victoria Nuland. Doesn’t mean the assessment is wrong but, like you say, take it with a grain of salt.

Here's a better picture of Russian next steps in the East and what it means for Ukraine.

Everybody including “anonymous in the defense,” were saying that the Ukrainians were taking back Kherson yesterday. Why does nobody in Kherson see it?

This map showing the disparity of supply line distances has serious implications for Ukraine's ATO army.

Drawing arrows on a map is easy. Actually advancing according to those arrows is much harder.
