What happens when Putin wins?
He wins the battle and loses the war. Too few are paying attention to the fact that Putin is jeopardizing the wealth of the 500 or so oligarchs in Russia who own everything.
They are the ones who will be hurt most by this war and when you cost a Russian Oligarch billions you might not like the result.
An alternative view but one that seems quite valid. The media coverage is all over the place on both sides but as with most things in life you follow the money......
That has absolutely no correlation with Putin’s army invading Ukraine, a non-NATO member.

Perhaps, but probably a better description of whats going on that the nonsense spewed on the evening news.
My wife is a slightly better pistol shot than me, so my experience bears that out. The fact that she shoots better without her glasses on is still perplexing.
Still, a clean sniper wearing shiny rings is a bit much. Plus, combatants don’t teleport into position to shoot. They often walk while carrying a bunch of heavy stuff. That’s the real reason why women in combat is a problem.
This story is fake news. We are getting a steady diet of it.

Perhaps in your world, but during the Cold War, trying to bring either country into NATO would have launched WW3.

Ask the Serbs, who had civilian targets in Belgrade bombed for weeks by NATO, whether there was any war crime trials. So, kind of subjective on the issue of war crimes.
lol you can’t cut off the fuel to a modern army in a city. They will just pull up to any gas station. They are not dependant solely on military provided fuel.

To me, that is what validates this point of view. War is a nasty business, there has been lots of killing on both sides.
But leaving the power network standing shows a long-view decision. The Russians would rather not have to rebuild it if they can avoid it.

Russians has quite different strategy unlike the Americans.
They go after the leadership by way of spec forces.
E.g. If Russians went after Sadaam, they would parachute airborne troupes to Baghdad airport, land transport airplanes there and capture Sadaam and his honchos first. Then just take over the rest of the army, which by that time would have no leadership.
Not that stupid, actually. It saves the hardware, which Russians do not have that much. It also preserves the captured country for further exploitations and saves lives of the opponent rank and file.
But they failed in Ukraine. Zelensky is still roaming the streets of Kyiv. He knows that he is the target, so he is deliberately touting them!
As long as Zelensky is free in Kyiv, Russian are loosing!
She may well have done what they say she has. The thing I’ve noticed is that you have some exceptional heroics going on over there, and disinformation being what it is will do things like slap fake footage on the name “ghost of Kyiv” and then say “gosh, this is fake footage, the story itself must be fake too.” When of course that doesn’t automatically follow.
Interesting analysis. It certainly contradicts the mainstream propaganda (er, analysis). Which only makes it more likely to be correct.

You are correct. Taking citizens, many that have never held a rifle in the hands and have no training or organization and expect them to engage with regular troops is a sign of desperation not a winning strategy.
I don’t understand the goal of those who are critical of the accuracy of the news coming from this crisis calling friends of putin. Reality is reality, Ukraine is going to lose this war is spectacular fashion the only question is when. And even if I’m wrong, the US taxpayer is going to suffer and the US economy is going to take a huge hit.
Personally I have no dog in this fight and consider it naked aggression on behalf of russia. The west has bungled this in particular the biden adm. that doesn’t mean I rooting for the russians, I’m not.
I think the Putineers here are just fine with it. And if you object to a old KGB psychopath playing Stratego with real countries, you’re a neocon warmonger crypto lefty. What a world we’ve woken up to!

Yep, and if they weren’t going to ever join NATO, they should have announced it, as Russian requested. Then I might actually be on your side if Russia still went in.
