If no Crypto company is part of the DJIA then the Dow didn’t drop because crypto took a hit.
Just like in the 49 gold rush, those selling mining supplies to the starry eyed dreamer miners made the big money.
Then it will never work as a hedge, which is what they kept saying about it early on.
I think the safest counter/hedge against inflation and other market forces has been ammunition.
So how is crypto a hedge against inflation when the aggregate crypto monetary base ( different coins x number of each ) keeps expanding with no constraints?
And the articles include an obligatory stock photo of these digital “currencies” piled on a table in minted out gold/silver coins...
