My gas heating bill has suddenly risen $50 a month. And I live in a state that is swimming in natural gas that Biden and our idiot Democrat governor are determined to shut down. The weather has been unnaturally warm for December. There’s no excuse for this. I’m getting ripped off by somebody.

Chances are if you were on S.S. then the measly raise was just effectively wiped out for that month & likely a few more. I was out on my own since the mid-50s & sometimes hit an inflationary period here & there. Even without the inflation, the raises I got were so poor that I’m sure they were offset by taxes. The only way I ever got a worthwhile raise was if I changed jobs & got something better. I remember 2 places I worked that believed in 2¢/hr. raises(I’m serious) & they thought they were really doing something. They WERE doing something; putting their employees into an ever-more-serious situation.
