May I respectfully state that many people including myself (at university libraries) have had public contact jobs where we had to enforce “no” and people got mad at us. Or what used to be free now costs you money, sorry. We couldn’t tell our bosses we won’t do it.
I had a vague memory and now it came clear.
This enforcement by hapless front line workers as CEOs and DC Deep Staters wait behind high rise headquarters doormen and security agents in the distance, is similar to the 1950s and 1960s.
Gov. George Wallace used to say the government leaders pushed their integration policies by busing and then forcing “little school children” to take the risks and the problems while they themselves were in posh offices elsewhere. True.
