Ok, so go find a contrary wide story. You won’t find one.

Maybe not that high, but a multitude of twins studies indicate a very strong correlation between genetics and IQ, as well as other personal factors.
Agree. This is kind of a dodge. We were only talking IQ, not success, not faith, not desire. Only IQ.

1. Yes, and everyone in the study had a registered decline in reported IQ of between 4% and 8%. I suggest you go back and look at how every category faired, between the tests at age 7 and the tests at age 17. All groups declined.
2. Read the analysis of the people who did the study. They do not rule out the environment of the adopted children prior to adoption. Why? Very early parental influence in child development is very important.
3. The study involved adopted children. Adoption itself involves attributes that nurture can affect, which include as much what the parents supply in expectations, MORE SO than their own IQs. Liberals make horrible teachers and parents of “underprivileged” kids because they start out with low expectations of them. It is no secret why black parents in the south like the old traditional “historically black” (all black) private high schools. Their kids will not have low expectations from their teachers and will be pushed to do their best. Unlike the Liberal public schools that don’t expect much from the “minority” students.
What are SAT scores like from historically black high schools? They should be high, because the student body comes from the population with the income to afford them, right?
So, what’s the actual data?
Maybe Thomas Sowell has the data. I think he may have researched it more than mainstream academics.
I’ve read a lot of Sowell. He has made a number of comments about it being a disservice to black students for Affirmative Action to send them to schools that they are mismatched for, just to see them fail there where they could have succeeded at a lower tier school that better matched them.
But I have not seen Sowell put out any data disputing the black median IQ.
