I don’t know the seriousness of this claim, but elections are at least in part about playing the percentages. If this convinces 0.25% of voters to come out and reject the recall it helps a great deal, even if the claim is complete bull.

The biggest issue is if the state AG refused to defend the law or halfasses it. My guess is the courts would have to decide if the group that sponsored the recall can defend it.

I remember a proposition to make a change in the state Constitution and it passed. The Democrats went to court and the state supreme court ruled it was un-consitutional! So with Democrats anything is possible (if you control the courts).
