Very unprofessional behavior if he in fact carried on a conversation with the people who entered the building. I wore a uniform for 25 years. Your job in a so-called "insurrection" like the one Democrats are trying to push, isn't to share your personal information with the people you are supposed to be removing from the area. I wore a uniform for 25 years, and that type of behavior was not one that was permitted by the government department I worked for.
