That sounds like something Robert E. Lee would say about slavery in Virginia.

It is a typical reaction for democrats to answer in this way. That is how they held on to segregation in the south for so long. Sheldon Whitehouse is a big hypocrite.

Right, you link to one of the most liberal rags for a story on how the entire War between the States was over slavery and nothing else, and does nothing but attack Lee in every paragraph. Great Response.
