We’ll soon find out Sinema’s price too.
If they can’t flip her there are more than enough Republicans willing to flip I bet
Is Manchin indeed bought off? We’ll see.
That is all?
If we have to depend on Kyrsten Sinema to save the country then we are already screwed, we all know the definition of insanity which is what hoping for either party in Washington to save the country is all about
States are our only hope and that is shaky at best, we need to deteriorate to a Weimar Republic and hope that whatever rises from the ashes doesn’t repeat itself
Joe Manchin is a key ally for the far-left agenda. West Virginia voters continually let him fool them.
Stuck with him until 2024. Bet he isn’t planning on running for re-election again so he no longer cares about any political consequences back home and will be all-in.
The 17th amendment murdered the republic long ago, folks.
Indubitably.
They won’t be in the minority. This election has shown everyone that what’s most important in an election is who counts the votes. Do you think the Dems will give that up? No way.
Exactly. Once he gets some RINO to cover he’ll go back to West-by-dumb-Virginia and tell the rubes “See!..I didn’t vote for that” and the brain dead morons there who keep voting for him while simultaneously voting GOP for president will believe it....again.
“If you really believe they’re against the end of the filibuster, think again.”
If the “end of the filibuster” means that the filibuster ceases to exist, then the Senate will become (even more) like the House. [It is noteworthy that Schumer came into the Senate during the Clinton impeachment from the House, and he continues to act like he is in the House, he can’t control his emotions.]
If the “end of the filibuster” means that a Senator must get up and hold the floor like it originally was practiced, I would really consider this as a parliamentary improvement.
I have long despised the kkkraps for decades now for using the filibuster by submitting it on paper from their offices, i.e. never having to do the work of talking and keeping the floor. DemonKkkraps have been extremely effective in killing GOP legislation and nominations. But as I have said elsewhere, the GOP is not only incapable of governing, the GOP has no interest in governing. Therefore the demonkkkraps didn’t have to do much to succeed really. With a 50-50 Senate, a real GOP might emerge with some of the younger Senators, and could be successful if the filibuster reverts to its previous practice. And America will win because it takes us closer to self-governance where the issues are spelled out by the (s)elected.
IOW, the GOP leadership would have to get 10 - 30 Senators committed to take turns in “x hour” increments and keep talking about the issue... to death. Of course, media censorship is a concern because there is no press in DC - i.e. much of the GOP talk will be like a tree in the forest with no one to hear. But, it will fill up the Congressional Record, and the longer it goes on, the less that gets done in DC (which is a very good thing) and eventually the media will complain about nothing getting done, and have to report why nothing is getting done. And the demonkkkraps won’t be able to push as much of their garbage onto the American people.
So you see, the “talking” filibuster requires real leadership, real beliefs worth fighting for, and WORK, and those are its 3 fatal flaws. All Senators want an easy way out. None of them want to work really for the people. They truly are holders of sinecures.
I would not be surprised if the demonkkkraps totally get rid of the filibuster, ram their crap through, then just after the 2022 election, if they by some miracle lose majority in the Senate, they will reimpose the office filibuster. The current GOP leadership will complain about it, but do nothing.
If the filibuster reverts to the “holding the floor”, and we have 10 - 20 GOP Senators who are committed to a real filibuster, America could win. But this is dependent on a GOP Hail Mary pass late in the game that the GOP has the number of people to push Mitch the Snake out of the way.
Can the abused filibuster stay where it is .... right now, I think the media euphoria and demonkkkrap obsession makes this a diminishing possibility.
n all cases, citizens be damned.
bump
Manchin Sinema!!!!!! They are ALL on the take.
Oh, such a soap opera. Uniparty (R) and Uniparty (D) hacks jockeying around to make sure they all play the parts they’ve been given. It’s all total BS. The decision has already been made. The filibuster is history and anyone who didn’t realize that on January 7 is a fool.
I guess Mrs. Manchin is TOO STUPID to get a JOB ANYWHERE but the CORRUPT GOVERNMENT!
OR there will be LOTS of MONEY FUNNELED INTO HER OFF SHORE BANK ACCOUNT!
> They won’t be in the minority. This election has shown everyone that what’s most important in an election is who counts the votes. <
Agreed. Too many conservatives still view politics from a 1970’s ebb and flow perspective. Unfortunately we are in a different world. Elections are now decided by linked electronic voting machines. No one really knows what’s going on here. And the Democrats plan to keep it that way.
We have already seen that the media and the courts don’t care much. So who will save the Republic? I’m scratching my head on that one.
I hope you are right, but I have serious doubts that the GOP has 10-30 senators who would band together and “hold the floor”.....
I think we can count them on 1 hand maybe 5-7 total...
Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Josh Hawley perhaps then who
I have no confidence in my two Senators Rubio or Rick Scott, neither has shown any real talent in statesmanship
